Gareth will be delighted. The balance of the team looks good. Few little things to work on as conceding a goal from a set-piece is not good.

Daniel Betson: Fair play to Panama. They haven’t given up and folded. They’ve been very game in the second half.

Steve Canete: I'm disappointed that England conceded but also happy at the same time for Panama.

Lee Priddle: First time having some father and daughter time and watching a football game together. I fear it may be giving her unrealistic expectations for the future.

  6. 'It's been easy for England'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

    England 6-1 Panama

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

It has been such an easy game for England. You have to beat what is put in front of you and they have done that. They have come off the pace in the second half but it's disappointing conceding the way they did.

  7. Why are England top?published at 88 mins

    England 6-1 Panama

England are going top of the group on yellow cards. If they draw against Belgium in the final game, they just need to make sure they don't get more cards than Belgium.

Flipsix: Happy for the Panama fans. Even happier that watching England concede a goal like that has (for once) not left me feeling devastated.

Michael Wheeler: Fed up with the criticism of Raheem Sterling. Fair enough, not at the heights of his league performances, but two assists, some good runs and some good balls through mean he doesn't deserve being singled out for criticism.

Alex Corps: This is what happens when you take the pressure off. Let’s learn this lesson now when we’re winning, and not replicate it against better sides.

I said when that Panama goal went in that Belgium would go back top of the group - it looks like I was wrong. Not for the first time.

    England stay top.

England have been abject at the back when attacked by poor teams, let's see what happens when we play a decent attacking team.

100% agree. I'd be very disappointed if England make a load of changes against Belgium. That never works well. Just ask Roy.

Effort! Raheem Sterling hasn't been brilliant today but has got two assists and almost bends in a brilliant effort from 20 yards. That was close.

  19. 'Poor goal to give away'published at 14:38 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

    England 6-1 Panama

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Harry Maguire and Ashley Young are playing them all onside. I don't know where the mix up has come from, maybe a lack of communication. Poor goal to give away from England, just switched off. But it is a good finish.

  20. Postpublished at 80 mins

Into the last 10 minutes. England are going into the last 16 but Gareth Southgate will be annoyed at the cheapness of that concession. A poor goal.

It's been an odd second half.
