Russia do not know whether to stick or twist, go at Spain for an hour or carry on as they are?

Spain, not always themselves in the group stage, have been given an injection of pure confidence. The ball is being swept around Moscow. Russia have nine white shirts defending. Spain could probably do this all afternoon.

Henners: That goal. serves you right for making no attempt at playing the ball and just wrestling Ramos to the ground.

Lee: Oh dear!! Terrible defending by Sergei Ignashevich he just wanted to bundle Sergio Ramos over and ended up scoring an own goal!

I've just seen another replay of the goal. Sergei Ignashevich wasn't even looking at the ball. He turned his back and engaged Sergio Ramos in an aggressive dance. In fact, if he'd grabbed someone like that in a nightclub, he'd have had a bouncer feeling his collar. Crime doesn't pay, kids.

Moscow is a little stunned, not sure how to respond. There are chants, but the wind has gone from the sails. What do Russia do now? The plan would have been to keep it goalless for as long as possible. Now, do they have to come out to play?

It was sloppy by Zhirkov for the foul initially.

And then it's dreadful defending and Ignashevich, who is just looking to fight Ramos rather than attacking the ball and trying to clear the danger. Delight for Hierro.

This is the World Cup of set-pieces.

Sergio Ramos was strong at the back post, there was only one thing on his mind. The Russia player marking him was not even looking at the ball.

Fernando Hierro is at the edge of his technical area, waving his arms around like a traffic policeman. Do players pay attention to that? Blimey, that's a heavy one. Yuri Zhirkov on Nacho, who is lying in a heap. Spain free-kick on the right...

Keep an eye on Aleksandr Golovin v Gerard Pique. There's some grappling to be done there. Like Greco-Roman wrestling. Pique looks a little ruffled.

Isco is sitting deeper for Spain and is buzzing all over the place. Demanding the ball, lay-off, run again. It's not comfortable in that Russian back line. Even when the home side approach the halfway line, the crowd gets excited.

Russia are playing so deep with five at the back and three tight in midfield, they are not going to come out today.

If you tell Russia now you will end with a penalty shootout, they would take it.

Stanislav Cherchesov, the Russia manager, looks like Alexei Sayle. Google him. He's wearing a very smart suit. He's competing with Gareth Southgate in the best-dressed stakes. Russia break, win a corner.

With Russia, the change of system is the big talking point. They will try to stifle that Spanish midfield because they are so effective in possession. However, the decision to leave Iniesta out will be scrutinised if it doesn't go right for Spain today.

Deafening boos while Spain have the ball. We could be in for a lot of that. Russia already being led a merry dance.

Most of the playing surface is in shadow. There's just a tiny wedge of sunshine on the far side, the Spain right-back area. Fernando Hierro has a lot of buttons open on his white shirt. He looks like a politician on holiday.

Spain in their usual red, Russia all in white. Spain attacking the goal to the left as we look on. Off we go...

I love seeing the shots of the VAR control room. They must only be down the road. What else is in that building? Can they get a brew from somewhere?
