    France 1-0 Belgium

There's now been 26 goals from corners at this World Cup, the most since 1966.

    That makes me happy.

  2. 'Poor decision'published at 20:23 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    France 1-0 Belgium

    Danny Murphy
    Former England midfielder

Hugo Lloris should be catching that ball to help relieve some of the pressure on his players. Poor decision from the Tottenham keeper.

World Cup 2018: Powerful header from Belgium's Marouane Fellaini goes just wide

Belgium have gone back to basics and it works every time. This is how they destroyed Japan, they should just play direct from the off! Dries Mertens gets it, takes a touch and whips it in, Fellani meets it with a thumping header which skims just wide.

    So close!

Backheels, pace to burn and scruffy near-post header. Who's impressing?

One to bear in mind when rating the players, which you can do here.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 63 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

Another Tony Pulis fine for Nacer Chadli, hitting the first man at a corner. Eden Hazard then hauls down Blaise Matuidi on the break for a very well-earned yellow card. France would have been in.

  7. Postpublished at 63 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

The last team to come from behind to win a World Cup semi-final was France against Croatia in 1998.

  8. Postpublished at 61 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

That change should see Kevin de Bruyne drop a bit deeper. Straight away Dries Mertens gets a ball into the area and De Bruyne has a volley into the ground and saved by Hugo Lloris.

We are set for a cracking finale here...

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

Decisive leadership from Roberto Martinez. On comes Dries Mertens for Mousa Dembele. Formation tweak #45876567 of this World Cup from Martinez.

    France 1-0 Belgium

    Danny Murphy

Kylian Mbappe seems to have a maturity that you shouldn't posses at that age and it's all so effortless. He's exceeded expectations and everyone is enjoying watching him play.

Optimist in the Dark: See, for all the skillful interplay of both teams, eventually they follow England's example and score from a set piece

Alex: How on earth has Dembele not been booked yet?

David: Courtois beaten at his near post, shocking. Not sure that he'll be commenting on other keepers' capabilities again during this World Cup

  14. 'Absolutely gorgeous'published at 20:14 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    France 1-0 Belgium

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

What about the touch from Mbappe? By miles the best touch of the match. That was absolutely gorgeous from Mbappe.

  15. Postpublished at 56 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

Wonderful! That is sensational from Kylian Mbappe! First he skins Vincent Kompany down the right and for some reason passes it square when he should take it on, but seconds later he plays an absolute dream of a backheel to free Olivier Giroud but it's just not his year and the Chelsea man has a shot blocked.

Mbappe, you're a wonderful, wonderful man.

  17. Postpublished at 55 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

I'd back Keith Richards to be at England's next semi-final as well, even if it is another 28 years down the line.

Belgium repsonded brilliantly to going 2-0 down to Japan of course but this is an altogether bigger test.

  18. 'Brilliant header'published at 20:11 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    France 1-0 Belgium

    Danny Murphy
    Former England midfielder

It's a brilliant header by Samuel Umtiti and he gets above Marouane Fellaini. I think it might have even brushed Fellaini's head on its way in. How important have set-plays become in this World Cup?

  19. Postpublished at 53 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

The corner was won by Olivier Giroud, who turned sharply and got a shot away and blocked. Now France win a free-kick as Belgium need to hang on. Mick Jagger is in the crowd.

He missed England's World Cup semi-final 28 years ago as the Stones were on tour. Some things never change.

  20. 'A simple corner'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    France 1-0 Belgium

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

For all the different systems and one-twos and nice football, it is a simple corner into the near post and a flick on by the centre-half. The ball was zipped in at some pace and that definitely opens the game up.
