    France 4-2 Croatia

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One

There is such a strong spine and balance through the French team. They can play long and they can play short. They have got bags of pace and Raphael Varane at the back is classy. They have got a bit of everything.

    France 4-2 Croatia

Sime Vrsaljko does what any one of us would do in the last minute of a final which you are losing but don't think you should be. He just takes out Antoine Griezmann as he runs for the corner.

Paul Pogba is left unmarked from the free-kick and he misses his kick!

More shots, more possession, more threat, much easier on the eye. I really don't understand how France are winning, I've never said a 4-2 was undeserved before but I would like someone to argue that this. But that is football and France are world champions and that is all anyone will remember.

Ivan Rakitic hits one from 25 yards out but there was never any conviction behind that one. The dream is over. It could be a recurring nightmare for some in red and white.

The 4-2 scoreline does not tell the whole story...

Johnny: Just think - there’s an alternate universe in which Kylian Mbappe was never born.

Chris: Missing. One of the worlds self proclaimed greatest defenders, last seen being given the run around by a 19 year old in Russia.

Mark: It's been a great game of football but this referee has been poor, have to feel for Croatia, such a good side

Again, Didier Deschamps will say he has got it right tactically. A lot of people will say France should have lost it but they scored four and Croatia two.

Croatia with 65% of possession so far. France have sat back for large periods but they are within sight of a second World Cup title now.

France are nervous. They are having to be at their best defensively because Croatia keep moving the ball.

No shots on target in Russia 2018 for Olivier Giroud as he comes off and Nabil Fekir comes on. Like he'll care if he wins a medal.

    France 4-2 Croatia

Croatia have to push on now and they leave just two back against Kylian Mbappe - it means that one clearance can turn into an assist at any moment. Mbappe runs at the defence from halfway, bringing the crowd to their feet, but his final touch is not up to it and the ball is gone. Chance gone.

Lovely from Luka Modric, swerving on the edge of the area to sell his man and then put a cross in, it's nodded down and Ivan Rakitic hits a low cross/shot through the goalmouth and away...
