Controversy! Villa keeper Sam Johnstone is booked for making a save outside the box, but should it be a red card?

It all stemmed from a mix-up between James Chester and Johnstone, as Adama Traore tried to chip the ball over the Villa keeper.

Was his attempt going in? If so, Johnstone surely should've been sent off.

Substitute Fabio clips over a decent-looking cross from the Boro right but neither Patrick Bamford nor Rudy Gestede can get their heads on to it in the middle.

Conor Hourihane goes off as Steve Bruce introduces the experienced Glenn Whelan to the midfield for what could be the final five minutes.

Boro have players forward in promising positions, but Muhamed Besic's cross - aimed for the far post - is too deep and possession is lost.

Albert Adomah and Jonathan Kodjia combine well down Villa's left to provide for Conor Hourihane on the edge of the box, but the Villa midfielder's low shot is held by Darren Randolph.

So we're in to the final 15 minutes of normal time and Middlesbrough are still yet to have a shot on target. In fact, they've only had two in the entire tie.

They must start putting on some serious pressure soon, surely?

Villa are almost 2-0 up on aggregate, but Jack Grealish's bending effort is palmed away by Darren Randolph.

Still it's Villa who appear the more likely to score, yet it's Boro who need a goal.
