That was a lovely move and a wonderful goal - it was worked to perfection. Credit to Paul Hurst for coming up with that one, and credit to Alex Rodman for applying a little dinked finish - it wasn't easy.

Rotherham seemed to be quite comfortable and in control of the situation - and then that masterful set-piece for Shrewsbury arrived.

Both sets of supporters are now rallying behind their teams.

Shrewsbury had never even been in the game - Rotherham will be ruing giving away such a silly, needless free-kick. We talk about being sensible and looking after the ball in the right areas and then that happens.

It was a very clever set-play - absolutely brilliant. A clever give-and-go into the box. The movement was good and the timing was good.

It was very hard to stop and it's made it harder for Rotherham.

That was straight off the training ground and a perfectly executed set piece.

Shaun Whalley feeds a low ball into Mat Sadler, who turns a reverse pass towards Alex Rodman, having peeled off the Rotherham wall.

The winger is in space and does enough to dig the ball out of his feet and turn it past Marek Rodak while under the challenge of a defender.

    A brilliant goal.

    Rotherham 1-0 Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury find space between the lines, as Mat Sadler gets forward from teh back and is tripped by Semi Ajayi.

That was about 22 yards out to the left of the D, and gives Town a decent eye at goal.

Rotherham's Josh Emmanuel has really come alive in the play-offs and rightly received a lot of praise.

He looks really good, especially on the runs when he goes forward - he has the energy to move past people.

Paul Warne cut a fairly relaxed figure on the touchline for the majority of the first half. Weirdly, it was after Rotherham scored that he started to look frustrated and anxious.

He was moving around his technical area more, chatting with the fourth official more - the man who, of course, has that thankless task of appeasing both managers.

Both Warne and Paul Hurst shared a big hug in the technical area before the game - seemingly the relationship of the two former team-mates will not be tarnished by whatever happens today.

The Millers win a couple of corners in quick succession as they look to put more pressure on the Shrewsbury defence.

Toto Nsiala is now marking the goalscorer Richard Wood after he got the better of Omar Beckles in the first half.

A brilliant low cross from Carlton Morris!

The lone striker flashes a ball through that corridor of uncertainty between keeper and defence, some three yards out.

But there is no Shrewsbury shirt on hand to get on the end of it.

For Rotherham, the brief will be to keep relaxed. Shrewsbury have got to come out and open up sooner or later - then Rotherham will expect to pick them off. They've got to do the simple things and not try and be too clever.

Shrewsbury start with a bit more purpose, but Jon Nolan slips when trying to get on the end of a throw-in and then a foul is committed, giving Millers keeper Marek Rodak the chance to pump the ball long.

It was way back in his playing days in 1996 when Paul Hurst first appeared at Wembley, in the red and white outfit of Rotherham.

He has since come back twice as Grimsby Town boss. And this is his now his second visit with Shrewsbury too.

In April, when Town lost, he was kitted out in a sartorially elegant club suit. Today, he’s in his tracksuit and hoodie.

Change your outfit, change your luck? Change of team talk might be what’s called for now.

It’s not how their gaffer looks that counts now for Shrewsbury’s players. It’s what he says, if a hard season’s tinkering and tailoring is not to end up on the cutting room floor torn to shreds!

    HT: Rotherham 1-0 Shrewsbury

Rotherham are 45 minutes away from an immediate return to the Championship

Last time they were in the second tier, the Millers spent more than seven months rooted to the foot of the table, spending just 26 days of the entire 2016-17 campaign outside the bottom three.

Their total haul of 23 points was the lowest a second-tier team had finished with since three points for a win was introduced.

But under manager Paul Warne, appointed shortly after their relegation was confirmed at the beginning of April 2017, the Millers have enjoyed an impressive turnaround - and will be hoping to call themselves a Championship team again this evening.

That's as bad as I've seen Shrewsbury for a long time.

Their boss Paul Hurst probably hasn't got enough time for everything he wants to say at the break - he'll be shouting, screaming, yelling at them that this is their best opportunity to get to the Championship. I think they'll come out stronger. Rotherham will have to be calm.
