    Spain 1-1 Switzerland

You shouldn't draw too many conclusions from friendlies but France have been the most impressive side I've seen this week. Spain have looked very tasty indeed in spells but I still think they're slightly lacking of a central striker.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Spain 1-1 Switzerland

Nacho comes on - goalscorer Alvaro Odriozola gets a huge hand as he comes off, Nacho Monreal will be on in a minute as well by the looks of it.

Into that spell in an international friendly when all of the life appears to be sucked out of the stadium. They should make them an hour long.

Worrying lapse in concentration from De Gea gifts Switzerland a goal. Playing in goal for Spain is very different from what he's used to. He'll have long periods without touching the ball and has to stay alert and mentally switched on.

The subs continue to happen as former Manchester City man Gelson Fernandes comes on for the Swiss. Who has got another goal in them?

    Spain 1-1 Switzerland

That might be the worst error I've ever seen David de Gea make.

Tez: Phil Foden says he's learnt loads watching David Silva. If he becomes half the player Silva is we'll have a cracking player for the national team

GOAL - Spain 1-1 Switzerlandpublished at 61 mins

    Ricardo Rodriguez

Well, well, well! A David de Gea error, believe it or not, gifts the Swiss a leveller.

It's a very neat move to begin with, Breel Embolo playing a clever little pass to Stephan Lichtsteiner on the overlap and he curls a left-footed effort towards the far corner. It's a good strike but not very powerful, but to the shock of everyone De Gea spills it and Ricardo Rodriguez puts it home.

Switzerland rewarded for having both full-backs in the box.

The Swiss have barely touched the ball since the resumption. But they're still only one behind. And hang on...

Scott: I’ll never get bored of watching Iniesta

Nathan: Spain should forget about strikers. Just play Iniesta, Silva, Busquets, Asensio, Thiago, Saul all together

Camagu: Spain's understanding of space and time on the field just leaves you awestruck

  12. CLOSE!published at 59 mins

    Spain 1-0 Switzerland

Almost! A cross from the right is nearly met by Diego Costa's best Gareth Bale impression, but the touch from a defender just takes it away. Left-back Jordi Alba, backing up, slashes the loose ball wide.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 57 mins

    Spain 1-0 Switzerland

Saul's first moment of the game is the first booking of the night as he clatters Xherdan Shaqiri, who has no time at all for the offered hand of apology. That was a poor challenge!

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 55 mins

    Spain 1-0 Switzerland

I think Andres Iniesta has done enough to get a place in the team, so he comes off to a standing ovation. On comes Saul from Atletico Madrid.

  15. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Spain 1-0 Switzerland

Spain have been very good tonight but they may be ever so slightly concerned that it's only 1-0. Andres Iniesta is again at the end of a move to drill a left-footed half volley just wide from the edge of the area.

    Spain 1-0 Switzerland

Goalscorer Alvaro Odriozola has done his chances no harm at all tonight, he now gallops down the right and puts in a teasing cross, it eventually comes for Koke but his shot is charged down. Diego Costa, who I have still yet to see really look like he belongs in the Spain Xi, then runs into a team-mate. Not happening for him.

The grand master is OK though - that was a knee on knee collision and no more. A painful impact injury but he's going to be fine.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

The Swiss have also sent on young striker Breel Embolo, who will be a handful. He immediately finds Xherdan Shaqiri who has a shot charged down.
