    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

David Silva whips in a free-kick and Iago Aspas helps on a header but it's never on target. The one area where Spain are behind the Swiss may well be height at set-pieces.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

Switzerland have been on the back foot but they then put together a nice looking move which almost falls the way of Xherdan Shaqiri on the edge of the area, but Jordi Alba just about clears it away. Where will Shaqiri play next season?I don't think it will be in the Championship with Stoke.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

We'll miss them when they're gone. Part II. Andres Iniesta and David Silva play a one-two between some Swiss legs, there just didn't appear to be the space to do that there. Lovely stuff. The final ball in is well cleared though.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

How far do we all see Spain going? Are they a top class centre forward away from challenging? Diego Costa is very good at what he does but he's only scored seven goals for Spain.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

We'll miss them when they're gone - Andres Iniesta rifles a beauty of a crossfield ball out to David Silva on the left. Iniesta is captain this evening.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

We're well used to seeing Cesar Azpilicueta play in a back three but he's at centre-back in a four tonight, alongside Gerard Pique.

When at full strength Sergio Ramos will fill in there, with Dani Carvajal at right-back and Azpi missing out.

If anyone's interested, Steve heads the north east branch of the Yann Sommer fanclub. They meet on the last Thursday of every month in a pub in Thirsk.

David de Gea has to make a save at the other end but it had already been pulled back for offside.

I can absolutely understand people getting carried away about Spain BUT that 6-1 win over Argentina really did say more about the losers in that game than it did the winners. Could be an interesting game this, have always been a big Yann Sommer fan.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

After watching that Northern Ireland match this game looks like it's being played at x32 fast forward.

Whoever thinks that Switzerland should be two places above Spain in the world rankings needs their heads checking.

    Spain 0-0 Switzerland

Spain are immediately on the attack. And Thiago Alcantara forces the Switzerland keeper Yann Sommer to save at full stretch.

FT: Costa Rica 3-0 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Red Button

After the first goal it was damage limitation but unfortunately we went to sleep at another corner and we conceded again. We haven't even had a free-kick or any sort of opportunity near their goal.

You can't fault the Northern Ireland players for their efforts in difficult conditions.

Almost a fourth, and almost a very nice goal indeed for that man Joel Campbell as he volleys a cross just wide!

    Costa Rica 3-0 Northern Ireland

The 12 changes in this match have not helped, and the second goal right after half time more or less killed the game off. Northern Ireland are missing a lot of first-choice players out there but they have also been very poor today.

Jordan Thompson gets a few minutes under his belt, the Livingston man replaces Corry Evans for the finale.

Nice try! A deep ball from the right is volleyed back in by Ronald Matarrita but it's neither on target or close enough for Daniel Colindres to divert home from close range.

  20. 'Friendlies don't impact confidence moving forward'published at 19:48 British Summer Time 3 June 2018

    Costa Rica 3-0 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Red Button

When it comes to friendlies, they are nice to win, but the result doesn't really have any impact on confidence moving forward.

It will be a different team playing when they begin their Uefa Nations League campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
