Ben Woodburn and Nathaniel Phillips are also involved.

Their line-up is now: Kelleher, Camacho, Phillips, Van Dijk, Moreno, Fabinho, Milner, Woodburn, Ojo, Shaqiri, Solanke.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

The first outing for the referee's notebook.

He jots down the name of Liverpool midfielder Fabinho as the Brazilian lazily clips the heels of Alexis Sanchez.

And we are back up and running.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 23:10 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

    Ch, Ch, Ch Changes.

Liverpool have overhauled their side. Off and into the cotton wool go Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Xherdan Shaqiri is on. As is young Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and Sheyi Ojo.

Manchester United swap out Lee Grant for Joel Pereira in goal in their only change.

Sorry to be dull, but you have to go for the goalscorer again.

It was a superb free-kick from Andreas Pereira to pull his side level, but the Brazilian has also been the one to bring a bit of bite and snap to midfield as well.

Alexis Sanchez has been bright as well, impressing with some long-range, play-spreading passes as well.

    Liverpool first then.

Sadio Mane has been sharp and industrious, dropping deep, using the ball intelligently and then bombing on into the box to try and get on the end of things.

He has had 40 touches in the first half. By contrast, Dominic Solanke has had 16, Mohamed Salah has had 25, and even midfielder Fabinho has had less with 39.

An honourable mention for Adam Lallana as well. Less involved, but he was looking for those trademark telling balls into the box.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 22:55 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

And that is your lot for the first 45.

A cut above the usual pre-season fare, both teams showing a bit of oomph and some quality as well.

Liverpool probably slightly better, but it was a superb strike from Andreas Pereira to pull it level.

  8. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

More good work from Liverpool's right-back Rafael Camacho as he darts past Demetri Mitchell and to the byeline.

He pulls the ball back to the edge of the box. Alberto Moreno comes over all Carlos Alberto, throwing the kitchen sink behind his effort.

But it thuds into a defender's shins and behind for a corner.

  9. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk gets free in the middle once more and bullets a header...straight into Lee Grant's gloves.

He probably should have done better.

And the Manchester United defence definitely should. He is not an easy man to miss.

  10. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Rafael Camacho has been the academy lad making the most progress on Liverpool's tour this summer.

The 18-year-old whips in a vicious low cross off the right flank, but it just evades Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the middle.

    A very decent delivery though.

  11. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri are warming up for Liverpool.

Shaqiri will make his debut at some point today.

  12. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 39 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool's Sadio Mane is asking the question after Eric Bailly levers him to the floor in the box.

    Nothing doing though.

But it was not the cleverest challenge from Bailly, He left himself at the official's mercy.

  13. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Yep, there is definitely a bit of bite and tang to this one. Like a good cheddar.

Liverpool defender Ragnar Klaven takes a couple of chops to fell Alexis Sanchez in midfield. No card. But there could have been.

  14. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Ander Herrera hitches a ride on the back of Liverpool anchorman Fabinho as the pair contest a dropping ball in midfield.

    That's a free-kick.

  15. goal

GOAL - Manchester United 1-1 Liverpoolpublished at 30 mins

    Andreas Pereira

    What an absolute peach.

Andreas Pereira pings a dead-eyed free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards. A superb, clean connection with the ball hooping round and leaving teenage goalkeeper Kamil Grabara a mere spectator.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has actually scored for United before. He found the net in a 3-0 League Cup win over Ipswich in September 2015.

I don't remember it, but I doubt it was as good as that.

    Manchester United 0-1 Liverpool

Anyone got the cucumber sandwiches under cling film somewhere?

Both teams are taking a drinks break after that opening goal.

C'mon lads this isn't the Lords long room. Back to it...

  17. goal

GOAL - Manchester United 0-1 Liverpoolpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

    Sadio Mane (pen)

Sadio Mane, who scored one earlier in the week against Manchester City, steps up and slots away.

Lee Grant guesses right as he plunges to his right, but it is too accurate.

And a little stab of the Fratelli's Chelsea Dagger to celebrate. That gets too much stadium airplay for my money.

  18. PENALTY TO LIVERPOOLpublished at 26 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is bundled over in the box as a disorientated Demetri Mitchell spins around and kicks his man rather than the ball.

  19. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool

Manchester United are lacking some direct pace and threat up front.

Alexis Sanchez has a moment in midfield to pick a pass, but is woefully short of options despite Scott McTominay busting a gut to get forward.

Basically they are missing the runaway bulldozer of Romelu Lukaku.

He would stretch a Liverpool defence that has been largely unflustered.

  20. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool

That is Manchester United's best moment by a street so far.
