Jack Butland is not giving his defence any confidence at the moment.

Spain really are on fire. They've doubled their lead against Croatia in League A Group 4. Real Madrid's Marco Asensio has just smashed a shot in from 25 yards. What a strike. His first senior international goal.

Belgium are in control against Iceland in Reykjavik. Eden Hazard gave the visitors the lead with a penalty in their League A Group 2 contest, and Romelu Lukaku has now made it 2-0.

Kostas Manolas is at it again - the Roma defender whose goal put Barcelona out of last season's Champions League in dramatic fashion has scored for Greece in Hungary, where it's 1-1 in their League C Group 2 meeting.

Switzerland look comfortable and they are dominating the ball. They are quick to win the ball off England but they make the pitch wide when they have it. They are not going anywhere but it is good to watch. England started brightly but they have come off the pace.

Northern Ireland have commanded the game at Windsor Park and Paddy McNair comes close to a second but his fizzing effort is well blocked.

Switzerland are having plenty of possession and England are finding it difficult to get to grips with their opponents.

Newcastle's Fabian Schar has a pop from 25 yards out which drifts wide.

England skipper for the day Eric Dier is usually good with his head, but nods a free header wide from 12 yards out from Trent Alexander-Arnold's delivery.

Spain are flying. Fresh from putting England to the sword at Wembley they have just taken the lead against Croatia in their Nations League clash.

It is Saul Niguez who has broken the deadlock with a cracking header, after arriving late in the box to meet Dani Carvajal's outside-of-the-boot cross.

The game has settled down a little after that frantic period of England.

Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland will be pleased.

After their mauling by Wales last Thursday, this inexperienced Republic team have fared much better in the opening quarter in Wroclaw. Granted, the Poles, who have started without Robert Lewandowski, are playing with nothing like the verve that Gareth Bale and company displayed in Cardiff.

But so far, so good for the Irish.

What a dreadful start for England goalkeeper Jack Butland - scuffed clearance across the face of his own goal and then plays James Tarkowski into trouble and Shaqiri hits the post when he should score.

Not likely to settle any nerves and England very fortunate not to be behind. Hopefully he has got those out of the way early but very poor.

I love the England band.
