    Michael Appleton
Ex-Leicester City assistant manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

From a player’s point of view to see a new face gives the squad a lift, new competition for some players. Jack Grealish, whatever price tag on his heads, he would’ve been worth it.

He would have been an outstanding signing, a player we should be looking at and pushing as far as they can.

  10. 'Where will Everton's goals come from?'published at 19:22 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger at Turf Moor on BBC Radio 5 live

The question with Everton is, who is going to score the goals?

There are lots of creative players, we’ll probably see more from Gylfi Sigurdsson. Cenk Tosun scored some goals late last season, will he keep it going?

It is easy to say go and get a striker, to get strikers in the Premier League, these days we’re talking £80m or so.

    Best deal of the day?

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new four-year deal with the 2016 Premier League champions.

The 31-year-old has scored 88 goals for the Foxes since moving to the King Power from Fleetwood Town in 2012.

"Everybody knows how I feel about playing for this club," said Vardy, who added that his time with Leicester has been an "incredible journey".

"It's a great feeling to know that I can look forward to another four years as a Leicester City player."

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 live

It was defenders Everton needed and Mina is a massive buy, and I’m not just saying that because he’s 6’5. He scores goals too. A massive addition, they’ve had the same centre halves for quite a while.
