  2. The perfect window?published at 18:50 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Leicester City

Ok I've died and gone to heaven.

Not only do we hold on to Harry Maguire but after deadline passes we confirm the purchase of Caglar Soyuncu followed by Jamie Vardy signing a new four-year contract.

No 14-second problems this window. If a certain lager company did transfer windows...

Istanbul Basaksehir v Burnley (19:00 BST)

    Burnley's European tour continues!

They have landed in Istanbul ahead of another crucial Europa League third round qualifying match.

The Clarets needed extra-time to overcome Aberdeen in the second round so will be hoping for a smoother ride in Turkey.

You can follow that match live here. Joe Hart starts.

There's also updates from Rangers' match with NK Maribor and Hibernian's clash against Molde. Those matches will also be covered by BBC Radio Scotland.

  4. Lessons learned?published at 18:38 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Cardiff City

A mixed day for Cardiff today, we managed to strengthen centre midfield by adding two creative players with good business being done bringing in Arter and Camasara. However, we could have done with an experienced striker with Premier League experience to work with Zohore and Madine.

Overall I'm pleased with the work Warnock and the club have done in the transfer market during this window. Added quality to the squad with players brought in who are also hungry and will slot into the team with little disruption, and not paying over inflated prices and wages similar to our last venture at this level.

Look forward to the season ahead and watching Cardiff in the Premier League

  5. 'Arter move for the best'published at 18:36 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Bournemouth

From a sentimental point of view, losing Harry Arter to Cardiff is disappointing as he has played a big part in our recent rise.

However, he has fallen out of favour and to further his career, a move away from Dean Court is possibly best for all concerned.

It appears he turned a move down to Watford before settling on Cardiff.

As far as incomings are concerned, Eddie Howe was keen on another defender and striker, but rumours linking Arsenal and England man Danny Welbeck with a move to Dorset were wide of the mark and a deal for Brentford's highly rated centre-back Chris Mepham hasn't materialised either.

  9. Vardy gets a new dealpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 9 August 2018
    Breaking

    Leicester City

It's not often you praise a football agent but I think Jamie Vardy's deserves this one - Vardy has just been handed a new four-year deal which ties him to the Foxes until he's 35!

Vardy says: "Everybody knows how I feel about playing for this football club and it’s a great feeling to know that I can look forward to another four years as a Leicester City player.

“The journey that me, the team and the club has been on over the past few years has been incredible. Going into the new season, it’s an exciting time for Leicester City and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

  10. What are we waiting for?published at 18:27 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    A good question.

But there are some outstanding moves still to be confirmed/called off.

Fulham could still sign Andre-Frank Anguissa and Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Southampton are trying to sign Danny Ings.

Harry Arter is set to join Cardiff, Jordan Ayew is meant to be going to Palace and Federico Fernandez was supposedly joining Newcastle.

I'm sure there are more loose ends being tied up too.

Superb window for Leicester - Mahrez saga finally sorted, defence has been an issue for the last few seasons and we have got in 3 centre backs and a right back, in addition to Maddison at number 10. All of this and we have kept Maguire. Pint on him scoring at old Trafford tomorrow?

I was worried that Mike Ashley would have allowed Rafa to address some of our glaring problems. Fortunately, that hasn't happened. All the club's around us have spent big. Expect Newcastle to be in the bottom three and Rafa to be at a club that will back him by Christmas.

Ross B: Manchester United desperately needed a centre back. They had 12 weeks and didn't managed to sign one. To say I am bitterly disappointed would be an understatement.

Conchur: One of THE worst transfer windows for United. On the plus side at least DeGea is likely to stay, unless Everton buy him too.

Shrewsbury Town have signed striker Lee Angol for an undisclosed fee from League Two Mansfield – with just minutes to go before the transfer window shut.

Angol – who has just turned 24 – scored nine goals in 16 starts for Mansfield last season. He's previously played in League One with Peterborough.

“Once I knew this opportunity could happen I was hoping it could get over the line,” he said, “because I’ve seen what Shrewsbury achieved last season.

“They got to the (League One) play-off final, so you can see which direction this club’s heading in, and I want to be a part of it.”

    Angol’s signed a two-year deal – with an option for a third.
