  4. Three or four more to come?published at 16:06 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Fulham

It’s gone a little bit quiet at Motspur Park but I don’t think that’s too worrying. With the amount of deals Fulham are linked with, even if a few of them are coming off, there’s a lot to be done in the hour remaining.

I’m confident that the club’s got the matter in hand and I’m expecting three or four through the door before the close of play. At the start of the day I'd have been OK with just a LB and a CDM, so anything else is a bonus from this point.

Owen: After decades of mostly abject mediocrity (Steve Bull era aside) it's like all my Christmases have come at once as a Wolves fan! I even love our new gold (yellow) kit!

James Candlish: Chelsea are a Fekir or a Zaha away from challenging for the league. Pedro is too old to be a direct replacement for Hazard or Willian, and Hudson-Odoi lacks experience.

  6. No Dembelepublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Arsenal

So, the Ousmane Dembele dream is over...for this window anyway. I think most fans knew our business was done, aside from what's known as a 'madness' in the Arsenal community, where an amazing opportunity presents itself.

It also looks like Aaron Ramsey isn't going anywhere but the contract isn't signed yet so there will be some nervous people in Highbury House over the next few weeks as we push to get that deal done. Time will tell, come on Rambo, sign up!

  9. 'A big blonde ball of sunshine'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Huddersfield Town

There are few people more beloved in Huddersfield than Michael Hefele. I mean, yeah, he’s a good defender, built like a fridge and good with the ball. But, much more importantly, he’s a big, blonde ball of sunshine and fun.

He’ll be greatly missed. Thanks for the memories, Heff. I’ll never forget the time that you scored with your bum against Aston Villa or when you beat Leeds with the last kick of the game before swearing in your post-match interview.

What? No, I’m not crying…I’ve got something in my eye…

  18. Classic deadline-day movespublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Wayne RooneyImage source, Getty Images

One of the most successful deadline day signings of all time must be Wayne Rooney's 2004 switch from Everton to Manchester United.

That cost an initial £20m, which would get you an Alfie Mawson or a James Maddison now.

Rooney played 559 times for United, scoring 253 goals.

He won five Premier League titles and the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup.
