Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri: "We could have done better in the first half as we moved the ball slowly. In the second half, especially in the last 30 minutes we played well, but we can do better.

"This was not our best performance. I knew that West Ham is a very good team and they are confident after their win at Everton. We needed to move the ball faster otherwise it is very difficult to create opportunities.

On the forthcoming meetings with Liverpool in the League Cup and Premier League: "They have worked with the same coach for four years so at the moment, we are a step behind them. We have to try to improve very quickly, but I think Liverpool are ahead of us."

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini: "It was a good point against the leaders and a team that scored 14 goals in the first five games.

"It was a close game, and we had two clear chances and they had one. I think we played well tactically because we allowed them to have the ball where we wanted but we defended well

"We would prefer to have some more possession but it was a good tactical game and at least we did not lose it.

"I always want to win and you are never happy if you have clear chances, but you must take them, so I am happy with the performance and if you cant win, then draw."

Chelsea were held to a goalless draw at West Ham in today's earlier kick-off.

Here's the reaction to that point from both managers...

    That's the break.

Arsenal have had more of the possession, but Everton have worked the better chances.

    Decent game so far.

That's not enough to send Torreira off but he's got to be careful.

The ref is trying not to send him off.

Well, Lucas Torreira looks a bit worried after catching Lucas Digne late as the Frenchman stretched for the ball.

To be fair to the Arsenal midfielder, he's straight on to the referee trying to let him know Digne is hurt.

    He's already been booked, mind.

    It's end-to-end now.

Petr Cech to Arsenal's rescue again.

Richarlison breezes past Hector Bellerin like the Arsenal right-back isn't there, and the Brazil international gets a stinging left-footed drive off as he sprints into the box.

Cech just gets a fingertip on it to help it over the bar.

  8. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Out of nothing!

A misplaced cross from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and it nearly catches Jordan Pickford out at the back post, before bouncing clear off the upright.

Unless the former Dortmund striker was channeling his inner-Ronaldinho...

Half a chance for the Gunners. Wasted.

It's well worked down the left from the hosts and a good cut back from Aaron Ramsey to pick out Alexandre Lacazette, but he loses control just outside the six yard box.

Better touch and the Arsenal forward could have got a shot on goal.

Sokratis can't shake off a knock, he's heading off to be replaced by Rob Holding in the Arsenal defence.

More than two hours without any goals in today's Premier League football now...

Can Theo Walcott do something about that?

He springs the Arsenal offside trap to latch on to a lovely ball from Gylfi Sigurdsson, but Petr Cech darts out of his goal to block his former team-mate's low toe-poked effort.

    Good save.

Right, we're back at it at the Emirates.

Everton scramble clear from a hanging delivery into the box and Arsenal look to build again from the back.

No way through at the minute.

A very, very good effort from Lucas Digne. He whipped it over the wall and the top right-hand corner was his target.

Cech didn't take any chances though and pushed it over for a corner.

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Arsenal have the players to break with some serious speed.

They spring forward from an Everton corner and Mesut Ozil looks to slide a low ball across the top of the area, but there's plenty of dark shirts retreating quickly.

    Hector Bellerin was lurking.

Cracking whip on that free-kick from the left foot of Lucas Digne.

Petr Cech does well to scuttle across his goal and palm it behind.

Plenty of bookings early on at the Emirates.

Sokratis has to take one for the team after Shkodran Mustafi gives the ball away, bringing down Theo Walcott on the edge of the box.

    Richarlison looking dangerous.

Everton are enjoying a good spell, and the visitors keep the ball really well as they ping it around the back four before working it wide to Lucas Digne.

He slips in Richarlison, who wriggles free on the edge of the box and tries to curl a low right-footed shot into the bottom corner, but can only send it wide.
