  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 33 mins

    Man Utd 0-2 Newcastle

It's never easy to tell from the TV but I have no idea what sort of shape this is meant to be from Manchester United. Jonjo Shelvey wins a tackle and has so much room to move into.

Oh and it's nearly three! WHAT A SAVE!

David de Gea digs deep to keep his side in this, saving superbly from Yoshi Muto. He had a header from six yards out.

Alowade: Anybody remember when Chelsea players were playing to get Jose sacked? I love Jose, but why always him though?

AP: Bye bye Jose ... even if they turn it around. Change is coming. As a Liverpool fan I hope Jose continues, as a footy fan he has to go ...

McTominay doesn't look like a centre-back, he doesn't look comfortable at all and Muto can sense it.

    He's not a defender, he's struggling here.

Aimless ball forwards from Manchester United and it's easily swept up by Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka. That's better from Romelu Lukaku though, teeing up an attack down the right.

Luke: United’s main problem is a lack of a natural right winger. Their play is so asymmetrical.

Andrew: Public hanging of Bailly and moving McTominey to centre half are exactly the reasons Jose will be sacked.

Stavros: Bailly's 20 minutes presence on the pitch is the most disgraceful thing I've watched in a football game ever. Shocking. Unbelievable.

I won't pretend to second guess what Jose Mourinho is thinking but this use of Scott McTominay is all very odd. Ayoze Perez beats him easily on the edge of the area and fires a ball dangerously acros goal.

    He's not a defender - right?

Wow! Surely this isn't all Jose's fault?

Joe: Where you do even begin? Manager protesting by playing men out of position. Players bereft of competence and confidence. Execs in world of their own.

Red Devil: If I had of been Bailly there id have thrown my shirt in Mourinho's face.

Richard: United have a big choice to make. Does Woodward run the team or the manager? You support one or the other. Would Zidane accept the job of being dictated to?

Newcastle sky high in 16th in the as it stands table. Fulham would slide into the bottom three if - IF - it stayed like this.

Despite Jay's worst fears, Manchester United would be five points clear of the drop.

This has to be the end for Mourinho. United board have to sack him. Or relegation here we come. This has gone on too long.

This is better from the hosts. Paul Pogba has a shot well blocked on the edge of the area and it spins just wide.

I have never seen a substitute so early in a game that has not involved an injury or a red card.

Scott McTominay has gone to the right of a back three that also includes Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw.

This is the most staggering of starts.

United have said they are backing Mourinho today. I don't think they envisaged this.

  12. SITTER!published at 22 mins

Problems at both ends! Marcus Rashford now misses a sitter, heading wide from four yards out. Jose Mourinho turns to the stands with his arms outstretched.

What more can I do? is the gist...

This has been a surreal opening 20 minutes. Scott McTominay is indeed playing at centre-back. Victor Lindelof is on the bench.

Right then, Juan Mata has come on for Eric Bailly.

It seems that Jose Mourinho believes that Scott McTominay is his best centre-half.

Manchester United are all over the place, there's no shape to them, I can't tell you what formation they're playing.

It reminds me of Mourinho's last season at Chelsea when it all fell apart.

The way developments are springing up in Manchester someone will put some flats up by the end of the game in the Manchester United midfield if they keep leaving this much room.

Jonjo Shelvey has his own postcode to get a shot away and David de Gea has to push it away for corner.

This could get worse before it gets better for Manchester United. Eric Bailly loses his footing while the last man and Yoshinori Muto is almost clean through on goal again - but the ball had gone out.

Jose Mourinho's pre-match smiles are a thing of the past. A face of thunder now as he addresses the masses from the fringe of his technical area.
