David Wagner has also been mulling over a tactical tweak and decides to roll the dice. Up comes Benin striker Steve Mounie, who replaces long-throw specialist Philip Billing as Huddersfield go for two up top.

Isaac Mbenza is also introduced in place of Florent Hadergjonaj higher up the right.

Here is that change we expected from Liverpool. Off goes Adam Lallana and he is replaced by Fabinho, who is making his Premier League debut after his £39m summer move from Monaco.

Roberto Firmino and Fabinho did a warm-up, took their seats and then dashed down the tunnel.

Adam Lallana came to have a very brief word with Jurgen Klopp.

Looks like he coming off and Fabinho coming on. He is back now.

Looks to be some activity on the Liverpool bench. Adam Lallana, still in the early stages of his comeback from injury, pops over for a word in the ear of Jurgen Klopp, who then sends Fabinho off up the touchline to stretch his legs.

Huddersfield's heat map must be red hot around the halfway line. They've had plenty of the ball around there, but struggled to open up Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah has done well to get any sort of control on that ball.

It was a little bit of arm and chest and Town need to make sure if they lose possession in the midfield, that they have cover behind as we know all about the movement of Salah, Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri

That could have been game over.

Again, out of nothing, Mo Salah finds some space to meet Andrew Robertson's long ball from the left flank. He has the beating of his marker and sends a low angled shot whistling past the right hand post.

David Wagner looks a little edgy on the touchline. He knows that his side need to turn this positive performance into something more tangible.

More pressure from Liverpool as they force another corner. This time it is looped in from the left, over everyone in the middle, to the far post where Virgil van Dijk is lurking.

Van Dijk meets the ball with a volley, but it is rather tentative and easy for Jonas Lossl to collect.

Virgil van Dijk is always threat in these situations, despite not scoring a Premier League for the Reds this season yet, and Mo Salah's delivery from the right seems to be heading his way.

But keeper Jonas Lossl is well positioned to punch before Aaron Mooy helps him out to clear further upfield.

Liverpool settle down on the ball for a minute or so and force a corner...

Huddersfield have dominated possession since the break - holding about 65% of the ball - but they haven't had enough of it in the final third to really trouble Liverpool.

Laurent Depoitre has had a longer drought than the summer of 1976. Here's a decent chance though as Florent Hadergjonaj loops in a cross from the right.

Huddersfield striker Depoitre shows good movement to lose Dejan Lovren and determination to meet the ball, but he just can't get the right contact to trouble Alisson.

Another Huddersfield throw-in in the Liverpool half, another chance for Philip Billing to get his hands on the ball.

Liverpool have been well drilled in these situations though, as another one is headed clear. You could throw a lump of coal towards Dejan Lovren and he would head it away.

Daniel Sturridge has a sight of goal... memories of his Stamford Bridge strike come flooding back... this time it ends up closer to the top tier behind the goal rather than the top corner.

James Milner has picked up the captain's armband from Jordan Henderson and dropped back into his role as the Reds' deep-lying midfielder.

Gini Wijnaldum is playing on Milner's right, slightly more advanced.
