In truth the first chance Liverpool have had, but boy did Salah take it with aplomb.

It’s the end of his mini goal drought. The first piece of clinical build-up play we’ve seen from Liverpool.

The reason Liverpool can't unlock the door is Huddersfield are refusing to give them any space. Resolute and organised are the home side.

Philip Billing comes out from the back for Huddersfield and then skids on the greasy turf like a cat on a freshly-mopped kitchen floor.

Liverpool can't take advantage though as Huddersfield regroup quickly. Little action in the final third.

First venomous shot of the evening comes from the boot of Xherdan Shaqiri. The Liverpool midfielder swivels in the air to meet a loose ball with a volley, but the shot is blocked and Huddersfield survive.

Bit of claret on the face of Chris Lowe. The Huddersfield defender sticks his mush in the way of Joe Gomez's shot and sees stars for his trouble. He needs some smelling salts and patch up job.
