I think Crystal Palace are too reliant on one player in particular – that would be Wilfried Zaha that I’m talking about. And I think they allow Christian Benteke to take a lot of the flak as well. Yes he’s out of form, yes he’s not scoring goals and it is a huge problem for Roy Hodgson. But what about everyone else?

An old teammate of mine Andros Townsend was playing for England, and playing very well. He needs to probably step up his game as well to relieve some to that pressure.

They’ve spent a lot of money on German midfielder Max Meyer and I haven’t seen much from him. I feel like a lot of players are getting let off the hook, and Roy Hodgson is having to bear the brunt of the criticism because of it.

I think the penny has finally dropped for Ross Barkley. He’s always had the talent, it was just the mental side of the game. I think Maurizio Sarri now is getting the very best from him, and he’s ready now. He’s talking about winning trophies.

When I first saw him at 17-years-old taking a corner, I didn’t know if he was a left-footer or a right footer. There is so much talent that he possesses and we’ve only seen a small part. I think he will become a top player soon for England.

Wright scored 117 goals for Palace after being plucked from Sunday league, and then became Arsenal's record goalscorer with 185 goals for the Gunners.

If you only know him as a pundit trust me - he was a brilliant striker.
