  3. 'The superpowers have moved forwards'published at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2018

    Burnley 0-4 Chelsea

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "We started very well, it's a fair shout and then we give away a poor goal from our point of view. It was a top side doing what top sides do, they finish clinically.

"On reflection we have played two top sides back to back in City and Chelsea who have delivered top performances and it's hard to deal with that. We aren't a million miles away.

"Ever since Leicester threw the form book out of the window the superpowers have moved forwards. They have deeper squads, it is getting more difficult to compete. If you look at the table the only real anomaly at the moment is Manchester United.

"Chelsea are title contenders without a doubt. They have a real mixture of players, they are a top top side. The techinical and physical quality of their play is outstanding."

Lukaku not getting a game against Everton will annoy him but he cannot really complain.

Everton fans will know if he is not scoring goals, his work rate falls off and it feels like you are playing with 10 men.

He is a great player and great goalscorer, and could become the best centre forward in the world. But if he doesn't put the effort in it is right he is taken out.

How about this for a fashion statement by a fan outside Old Trafford prior to kick-off.

Perhaps he's taken inspiration for his look from a Manchester United bedspread he's seen in the club shop.

  7. 'Very happy for Morata'published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2018

    Burnley 0-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri: "For 10 minutes it was difficult at the beginning but then we played very well. I am very happy for Alvaro Morata and Loftus-Cheek again. I am disappointed for Giroud because today I thought he could score.

"He needs to score. At the end, everything is OK. We played very well in full control of the match for the last 80 minutes.

"At the moment we have to start to think about the next match. We play on Wednesday and we have a difficult game, we want to go on in the competition."

Craig: Not a great performance by #Arsenal. With injuries also stacking up, Europa league participation may finally be taking its toll. Defensive January reinforcements a must for Arsenal if that want to compete for top 4!

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley: "We put in a top drawer performance today. We are growing, we have momentum game by game and we can continue to improve.

"I am made up with how things are going, we are chipping in with the goals. I believe we can stay in the title race."

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: "It's been a good week. We need to keep it going. I have to be ready to play whenever, I came off the bench unexpectedly.

    Crystal Palace 2-2 Arsenal

    Pat Nevin

Crystal Palace at the very least deserve a point, and have got a better argument to suggest they deserve all three.

It is so strange the way the game changes. Had Arsenal continued to play with the intensity they showed in the first ten minutes of the second half, they would have cruised to a win but they switched off.

Former England manager and Tottenham midfielder Glenn Hoddle remains in a "serious condition" in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.

Hoddle, who is "responding well to treatment", collapsed after appearing on BT Sport on his 61st birthday.

Sound supervisor Simon Daniels has been praised for giving Hoddle emergency first aid at the BT Sport studio.

Daniels said he "just did what was necessary to give him a fighting chance".

Responding to tweets from pundits Robbie Savage and Paul Ince - who had appeared alongside Hoddle on Saturday morning - Daniels said: "It was my training as a special constable that paid off."
