The free-kick is lifted in by Willian and David Luiz pops up to power a header towards goal. Wayne Hennessey reacts well in goal and palms it clear.

Alvaro Morata is still working hard. Willian plays a clever little ball into his path and the striker wins a corner off James Tomkins.

Pedro is then pushed by Andros Townsend and Chelsea win a free-kick.

Southampton

Southampton boss Mark Hughes, speaking with Sky Sports: "Opening period is always important in any game and we didn't really acquit ourselves well. City will always ask questions and have a lot of talent, power and pace. They create two versus ones in good areas. You need to be more aggressive than we were able to show. We found ourselves 3-0 down and to all extents and purposes the game is gone.

"I was more pleased second half that we showed some pride. The scoreline is maybe a bit of a harsh state from our point of view. But you have to hold your hands up, City are a very good team.

"Going forward we caused them some problems. We could have made the scoreline more palatable."

Wilfried Zaha gets away from Antonio Rudiger but his cut-back is intercepted. Palace still have the ball and they go down the left again but this time Max Meyer's shot from a tight angle is swallowed up by Kepa.

Andros Townsend has had to chase a few shadows this evening but that goal was well taken. The little dot at the top of the box is where he struck from.

That header is not a hard skill six yards from goal, Álvaro Morata doesn't look comfortable, you can see it in his body language.

He's not confident which he should be after getting a goal.

Cesar Azpilicueta swings an excellent ball into the box and Alvaro Morata leaps highest but heads it straight at the keeper.

He was offside too. But that was a chance.

That's the weakness for Chelsea, no pace at the back when it comes David Luiz, he cannot live with anyone that is quick.

Lovely finish to the goal keepers left-hand side.

This could be a good thing for Chelsea, now they have to work for the three points, it was too comfortable.

"Get your shinnies on, Eden. You're up next."

Manchester City

Leroy Sane, scorer of Manchester City's sixth goal: "I was lucky at the end with the goals, I tried to score in the game, but the whole team was really strong today.

"You can see we're keeping going with how we play from last season, we enjoy playing together. It was important to be top today."

Luka Milivojevic comes flying in on Pedro but the referee lets Chelsea play-on as they retain possession and are nosing around the edge of the box.

The ball goes out for a throw-in and Michael Oliver will now call Milivojevic over for a quiet word.

Manchester City

With this Crystal Palace side, I have the feeling they got have their best eleven on the pitch today. They are going to have to chase the game but Maurizio Sarri will want to finish it early.

Marcos Alonso hoofs Wayne Hennessey's goal kick straight back up the pitch and Pedro wins a throw-in. N'Golo Kante is then able to drive forward in acres of space but Patrick van Aanholt is back to snuff out any danger.

Manchester City

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling: "It was a good day's work from the team. The boys came out well. You can get complacent at home but started well and carried on throughout the game.

"These are the games we need to capitalise on. The top teams drop points, we need to win. Big week this week. We go again in the Champions League."

What have you got Palace?
