    Arsenal 1-1 Wolves

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss, Unai Emery on the Gunner's performance:

"They worked very well, they were very organised. We worked and took risks in the match too. We have chances and they had chances also.

"This team, when they scored the first goal, you need to bring things tactically because they were very organised. You need to take a risk.

"They had chances in the last minute because our mentality was still to win.

"For me the match is difficult and we needed to take chances and play tactically. Above all we needed to score.

"I am happy with every player because they worked and with a good attitude.

"We need to continue and to work better. We want to win but then you draw. We want to continue our way and carry on.

On the injury time: "I wanted to play more, we wanted to carry on to win but for those 90 minutes the referee is the boss."

  4. 'How can we speak about the title?'published at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

FT: Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

More from Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports on Paul Pogba's absence: "It is not for me after defeat to speak about a player who is not here.

"Of course we missed him. It did affect our plan because Marouane Fellaini had to start. He is not in a condition to play 90 minutes. His effort was magnificent. But he is not in a position to play all 90 minutes

On the difference in quality of City: "There is 12 points [difference between the sides]. Our team is improving a lot. Even defensively, despite conceding three goals, it was a positive performance - it is individual mistakes.

"We concede too many goals that are of the responsibility outside of the back four. We knew there is a difference of potential. We knew our second position last season was a good achievement and this season we must fight for the top four.

"We have difficult fixtures. It is almost impossible for us to win three matches in a row [Juventus, City and Chelsea]. It was not a negative performance at all. City felt it was difficult for them until the third goal.

On title hopes: "We are outside the top four, how can we speak about the title? Lets fight to close the gap to jump into the top four. If we jump into the top four then lets see the difference."

Luke: Imagine saying to Wolves fans before the season that we would be disappointed with two draws away at Old Trafford and the Emirates. Huge credit to Nuno and all...

Abdul: Arsenal did not deserve anything, embarrassment.

Akshay: That’s 6-points dropped by Arsenal in the last three league games. We need to buckle up and start winning again. Long way to go before we break back in the top four.

  6. 'We don't care about the result'published at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

    Arsenal 1-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Nuno Espírito Santo, Wolves manager on today's performance:

"Coming to the Emirates and playing the way we have played, we should be proud.

"We need to speak among ourselves about what was not possible to achieve. There is a clear improvement, better defense, creating many chances and keep on working.

"It's a game, we had chances and sometimes you are clinical and you do it and sometimes we don't.

"Even when Arsenal got the draw, the best chances are ours they asked the referee for more time. If we had more time maybe we would have been better.

"Well done to the players and fans for behaving the way they did, we are humble, we have come up from the Championship.

"We don't care about the result, today we defend very solid and compact and we put barriers in front of goal."

  7. 'We played with a bit of fear'published at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

FT: Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "We deserved the victory. The first half we played a little bit with fear but football is a game and we didn't want to lose the ball. We didn't want to attack and they defended well.

"In the second half the game is a bit open so we have to find more space but we made a good performance against a top, top team .

On why his team had 'fear': "We wanted to play good in front of our fans and we know how important it is to play in this game. But we did well and that goal from Sergio Aguero helped us a lot after half-time.

"Man United have this amazing quality so they don't need too much to punish you. These kinds of situations can happen [the second goal]. We reacted so well. This time we didn't concede another chance.

On David Silva's performance: "It is not the first time he has played in the derby so he is very experienced but he played top. Bernardo [Silva] was also incredible and Raheem [Sterling] was incredible in his effort too. Everybody was good, especially in the second half.

On title hopes: "It is November so we haven't even finished the first round. A lot can happen in football. We are scoring a lot of goals and creating a lot. It is important that the players come back from the international break fit."

Sonsofpunjab: Man Utd and Man City may be in the City but are worlds apart when it comes to football....City so so good Utd so so awful.

Dan: Gulf in class is clear. United are not on the same level, have relied on sitting back too much. When that didn't work they got a scrappy goal to keep them in it.

Lee: Man United. Rubbish. Have we even created any goal scoring chances? I should've watched X Factor instead of watching these overpaid jokers!

  9. 'Zero words against my players'published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

    Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: "My first thoughts? The first is that we lost, the obvious one. The second is that we were in the game until the 80th-something minute and the third goal killed the spirit and morale of the team.

"One thinking is a bad performance and one thing is a performance with mistakes. I think ours was a performance with mistakes. It is football and for me it is even more football when we have a week where we play three consecutive matches away and Manchester City play three consecutive games at home. Our last match against Juventus left some scars in the team.

"For me zero words against my players, everything is positive. I am with them and they are with me.

"There is a gap,Manchester City start playing from the beginning of the season at a certain level that allows them to get a lot of points. Now we are a much better team than at the beginning of the season when we lost a lot of points."

Joe: “I think it’s not a bad performance at all” says Mourinho. He’s right, if he was manager of a mid table team. If Newcastle had got that result - fair play, at least they scored. Not United. Get out of our club now.

Tim: I'm sorry but things aren't going to change while Mourinho is still manager. He's got the players to challenge for the league, it's just I don't think that they want to play for him.

  11. 'It was a hard game for us'published at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

    Arsenal 1-1 Wolves

    Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno on today's draw:

“It was a hard game for us, in the first half we didn’t play our best and in the second half we had many chances and Wolverhampton had some chances as well.

“They were very deep and had fast players for the counter attack so it was very difficult for us.

“It was a difficult start because we conceded so it was easier for Wolverhampton to defend and they played on the counter so it was more difficult."

On the run without loss: “I think that is just a statistic, we wanted to win, we just drew and it is a disappointment. It’s most important for us to win the next game.

“I think there was an injured player, he was on the floor for two or three minutes so maybe we could have got a few extra minutes but that was not the problem today.”

  12. 'We paid for our mistakes'published at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

FT: Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports: "I think it is not a bad performance at all. It was a performance with mistakes and we paid for it. All three goals are our mistakes. Against a team like City, if you make mistakes you will get punished.

"We had two matches away [Juventus and then City], it is not the physical effort but the mental pressure. I think some of the boys felt it a little bit.

"The first one is a bad one to concede and the second one is even worse. The third goal kills everything.

"Everybody has to agree. It is one thing to go to Juventus and play against one of the best teams in the world for 90 minutes. Another thing to beat Shakhtar Donetsk at home 6-0 and be very relaxed. We arrive in different circumstances.

"We cannot lose the ball the way we did. It is not about David de Gea, it is about the way we lost the ball."

    Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, speaking to Match of the Day: "It was a derby game, both teams want to win it but it was a tough game. High intensity.

"We had a tough week with three games away, we competed, tried our best. It is frustrating for us."

  15. 'It worked out well'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

FT: Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan speaking to Sky Sports: "Unfortunately we weren't able to score more than two last time but today we scored three and won the game so we're very happy.

"It was very important to score the third one. They have ability to create chances. The third one killed it because it was so late.

"He told me to keep the rhythm high and use the spaces. I played in the middle of David Silva and Fernandinho. We wanted to keep the ball and it worked out well."

Man City striker Sergio Aguero: "For me it was more important to get three points but it's always nice to score.

On his new hair cut: "I don't know. Sometimes my hair is crazy!"

Ravi: Mourinho shouldve been sacked ages ago! He needs to go ASAP!

Neil: I think Mourinho needs reminding football is meant to be entertaining. Here’s a scary thought, how about trying to play football and win games instead of giving the onus to the other team.

Ish: Another shocking display from Utd . Time for Mourinho to go and Woodward . We are being embarrassed.

    Man City 3-1 Man Utd

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

You wonder whether those recent results against Bournemouth and Juventus have papered over the cracks?

To come here and have one attempt on target, which is a penalty. Is that good enough for Manchester United? When you have spent that amount of money on attacking players? I feel Jose Mourinho always is one or two performances from people wondering 'Will he still be here?'

Andrew Reyes: In truth, City are on another planet in compared to United. Bounce back in 2 weeks time.

Joe: The worst we’ve ever played in a derby. And I include the 6-1. At least we looked like scoring at some point in that match. This time we did nothing worthy of a goal, including the pen. What did Lukaku do apart from win the pen by the way? Answer - nothing.

Jon Dunn: We’re watching the best Premier League team of all time. Not to mention their squad.
