Mohamed Salah goes on a run down the right but he's stopped in his tracks on the edge of the box. He appeals for a free-kick but to no avail.

Liverpool quickly throw it back in play but Fabinho's ball through to Mohamed Salah is intercepted. But Calum Chambers follows through on Fabinho and Liverpool are awarded a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Andre Schurrle is given too much space by Liverpool's back four and he shoots from the edge of the box. It's got some swerve on it and Alisson has to dive down low to his right to palm it away.

The rebound almost falls to Ryan Sessegnon but Virgil van Dijk just about pokes it away.

Xherdan Shaqiri is starting to dominate things in midfield. He's involved as Liverpool's patient build-up ends with a Sadio Mane shot curling over the bar.

Nokeeroe: Slavisa Jokanovic’s job could be on the line if he does not win some games soon, and so Ryan Sessegnon’s miss there could prove very costly for club and manager.

Josh Earl: Huge missed opportunity from Sessegnon. Fulham might not get a better chance.

That is exactly what I was talking about. Mitrovic at his best. Ball comes in, he's flicked it on, Ryan Sessegnon gambles and it goes through Joe Gomez's legs. It is a great chance!

Anfield held its breath when Sessegnon's shot flew wide. Alisson was beaten and if that had hit the target, it was in.

Kyle: Decent start from Fulham though worryingly for them Liverpool have picked it up in the last 5 minutes. If Liverpool play the game at pace and with a high tempo Fulham cannot live with them.

But hold on a second...

Aleksandar Mitrovic flicks it on and Ryan Sessegnon is through! He has time to look up, pick his spot and shoot.

But his low effort is wide by inches! What a chance!

Aleksandar Mitrovic is so strong, so powerful. You can’t let him out of your eye line so I am interested to see how Virgil van Dijk copes with him today.

The keeper will put the ball on his head, can you deal with his strength and his tenacity? Hard player to play against.

Mohamed Salah is played through but his shot from the right-hand side of the box is superbly saved by Sergio Rico.

That's twice he's denied Salah now.

Fulham have dropped deep into their own half now as Liverpool continue to search for a way in. Trent Alexander-Arnold is hugging the touchline, continually providing an outlet, while Sadio Mane is making runs across the box.

Eventually, a ball is played long over the top - looking for the run of Alexander-Arnold - and the youngster's header lands on the top of the netting.

That could be Livepool's downfall. They get so much time, make great runs, get into great positions. They get into goal-scoring positions well. Salah should have scored.

They have got to take their chances. Don't take things for granted, regardless of who you are playing.

But Liverpool almost find the breakthrough...

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah link-up superbly on the edge of the box but keeper Sergio Rico is quick off his line and he blocks the Egyptian's shot from close range.

Fabinho then slips it back through to Salah but his curling effort flies over the bar.

As expected, it's Liverpool who are controlling the possession but Fulham are doing reasonably well to keep them at bay.

I expected the net to ripple, the keeper wasn't there. Great strike. It is great for someone like Xherdan Shaqiri who wants to cut in on his left foot to have Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right who gives you the space to do that and get a much better sight of goal.

Xherdan Shaqiri has one thing on his mind when he's in space on the edge of the box. He fires a powerful effort towards goal but it bounces inches wide of the right post.

Fulham win the ball in midfield this time but the pass out wide to Andre Schurrle is a little sloppy. It gives Liverpool enough time to get back into position and the hosts can clear their lines.

Sadio Mane's first touch was sloppy but he tracks back immediately and wins the ball in midfield. He maintains his balance, twisting between two players before slipping it through the middle for Mohamed Salah.

It's got too much on it though and keeper Sergio Rico snuffs out the danger.

Cyrus Christie throws it long down the line for Aleksandar Mitrovic and the Fulham forward gets a nick off a defender to win a cheap corner.

The resulting set-piece is defended comfortably by Liverpool though, and Andre Schurrle is then flagged for offside.
