Give credit to referee Anthony Taylor. I thought he would give a penalty for Chris Smalling's challenge on Sergio Aguero. he lets the advantage go and David Silva on right foot blasts in. Great play from City.

    Ivan Cavaleiro (13 mins)

The boys from the Black Country are ahead!

It's a disaster for Granit Xhaka who gifts possession to Ivan Cavaleiro inside his own half.

There's an awful lot of work for Cavaleiro to do. He passes to Raul Jimenez on his right who returns the pass for Cavaleiro to tap in from close range.

    Another slow start by Arsenal!

    David Silva (13 mins)

    It's been coming.

Manchester City have been dominant from the outset and deservedly take an early lead.

Raheem Sterling superbly picks out Bernardo Silva at the far post and the midfielder plays the ball back across goal for his namesake David, who takes a touch before smashing a shot into the roof of the net.

City immediately win the ball from the kick off and come forward again. Relentless.

I am chuckling at Pep Guardiola at the moment. The Manchester City manager was desperately trying to stay sat down, but he is clearly not happy with his side in front of goal. He has sprung onto his feet and charged to the edge of his technical area on at least three occasions already.

Three times in the opening six minutes Manchester City have cut through United's defence.

One manager is calm on the touchline, one is screaming instructions.

    Yep. It was Pep Guardiola.

Can't believe his players can actually hear him though.

These are nervous times for Manchester United as the hosts continue to dictate play.

A typically intricate passing move carves Jose Mourinho's side open as David Silva beats the offside trap to meet Fernandinho's pass. His effort is blocked before Fernandinho swipes wide from outside the box.

Ooof! Manchester City have the first shot of the game with just one minute and 15 seconds on the clock.

The hosts pass the ball around patiently before Bernardo Silva dials up the tempo to charge forward down the middle before smashing an effort just wide of the far post.

    Close.

Pep Guardiola has failed to record Etihad Stadium victories against just two of the Premier League teams he has come across in his two seasons at Manchester City.

Today's opponents are one. Everton are the other.

And as their back-to-back draws came under different managers, Jose Mourinho is the only manager Guardiola is still to beat here.

  16. 'We're not in the best moment'published at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

    Arsenal v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery: "Against Liverpool I think we had more in the 90 minutes of the game. Our idea is to repeat matches with this pace over 90 minutes.

"It is about the progress in the team. The progress is about continuing to create confidence and creating also tactically different ways to improve."

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo: "We're not in the best moment but we have to react to it.

"We reacted well from the bad performance against Watford, we didn't achieve the result against Brighton or Tottenham but we performed well.

"We don't think about the result first - no matter what, it's perform well, do your tasks and try to win."

The Arsenal of last season probably would have lost that game against Liverpool. The fact that they stuck with it and grabbed a late equaliser is seen by many as another sign of their steady improvement under Unai Emery.

However, that positive outlook only goes so far and doesn't lessen expectation. Anything other than a win over Wolves will be greeted with huge disappointment.

The Premier League new boys are suffering their first blip of the campaign. Their late rally at home to Spurs was not quite sufficient to avoid their third successive defeat, and their rotten record against Arsenal suggests that run might get worse before it gets better.

  20. Expecting a 'special' gamepublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2018

Man City v Man Utd (16:30 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

Both clubs proudly flew the Premier League flag in the Champions League this week, but whose will be hoisted over Manchester until they meet again?

'Sixy' City were sensational against Shakhtar, and if they play again as they have been doing then their first derby win in four at home is more than likely.

Whatever United's plans, they must involve what has been a problem for most Etihad visitors, and that is staying in the game.

For all United's recent comeback exploits, it won't happen every time, and after last time here Pep Guardiola would make absolutely sure it couldn't again.

His team is magnificent right now, whilst the 'Special One' has his mojo back and is looking forward to a "special" game. As are we all.
