Good eye, Waddler. Bernardo Silva covered 12.93km tonight, the most of any player.

I cannot speak highly enough of Fernandinho and Bernardo Silva - the quality on the ball.

For me, Bernardo Silva, I would love to see the miles he has clocked up tonight. He was everywhere and kept dragging the team forward, Manchester City looked exhausted at times.

That's why I thought Liverpool would have gone on in the last 20 minutes.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany to Sky Sports: "I'm not worried about the result I'm buzzing with the tremendous performance. We went toe to toe with a very aggressive team and we matched them. It's still in Liverpool's hands. It came from our guts, a desire you can't describe. We are a better team when we play with emotions.

"I thought it was a great challenge, was it not? I got the ball, a little bit of the man but it wasn't naughty. I didn't try to injure him. It was that or let him go through on goal."

Liverpool had three in front of the back four to protect. Obviously going forward, the players normally ripping teams to bits, didn't get much service.

Manchester City had to hold on, but it was a great game without many chances.

The second half was superb. A proper game between two very good sides.

The title race is well and truly on.

It was enjoyable, not a classic and not a lot of goal action. But overall Manchester City just edged it and it's a fair result. Liverpool put a bit of pressure on in the final 15 minutes.

It makes the race for the title more interesting for the neutral.

Liverpool have tried to ask questions too late in the second half. They should have come out the blocks and tried to have a go.

A shrug of the Klopp shoulders as a long ball doesn't find Virgil van Dijk. The leaders haven't been at their sparkling best tonight.

Is this a crucial night in the title race? Surely.

You won't get two better chances to kill the game - if Bernardo Silva hits it low or high, he scores. If Raheem Sterling just hits the target, game over.

How?! If anything, Raheem Sterling hit that too well!

City should score as Liverpool get themselves in a mess at the back, Bernardo Silva can walk into the area, his shot is hard but saved by Alisson, it runs out to Sterling who absolutely smashes a strike from 18 yards, it fizzes a few inches wide of the post.
