Manchester City are really trying to increase the tempo here with some serious pressing of Liverpool. There is still an air of anxiety around Etihad Stadium because of the knowledge that this Liverpool team can strike at any time.

Liverpool have not had a shot on target since the 20th minute. That has to change.

Danilo has a dig at the other end but it's always well wide of the target.

Worth another look at the table as it stands. If it stays at 1-0 to the hosts this is how the table would stand.

I wouldn't say Liverpool have nothing about them, but the champions do look comfortable enough at the moment. However, Liverpool cut City apart with one move in the first half and could do again.

There is arms on Raheem Sterling, but no - Andrew Robertson grabs hold of him, but I don't think Sterling would have got to the ball anyway.

I think Pep Guardiola will be delighted the way Manchester City have approached the second half.

Bernardo Silva has been the best player on the park tonight.

The front three of Liverpool look a bit off the pace, leggy. Roberto Firmino has not been involved at all.

Sadio Mane does his best Leroy Sane impression down the left wing but his cross is cut out by Ederson. City come right down the other end, Raheem Sterling takes on Andrew Robertson and ends up on the floor.

What's everyone's favourite moment in any football match? Yep, the referee slipped over.

Sean Macnamara: This game's not over and neither is the title fight - both will go to the wire. As a Liverpool fan I am not worried - Aguero has now irritated us and we will see a backlash in the 2nd half.
