They didn't cash in on the Phil Jones factor.

  2. 'Newcastle offered little going forward'published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Newcastle 0-2 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on Radio 5 live

There's been a lack of belief from Newcastle, that they don't believe they could score in this second half. They've offered very little going forward.

When you have chances against the big boys, you have to take them, Newcastle had two or three opportunities in the first 20 minutes and they didn't score.

  3. CLOSE!published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Bournemouth 3-3 Watford

Dan Gosling tries to get the ball back onto his right foot but wastes too much time, allowing the tackle to come in. But if falls for Junior Stanislas on the edge of the box. He tries to curl it into the bottom corner but it's comfortably saved.

Bournemouth are just starting to turn the heat up though...

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Newcastle 0-2 Man Utd

Marcus Rashford has been the difference maker tonight - a goal and an assist for the England man. He comes off, on comes Jesse Lingard for the last few minutes.

Kyle: I told you Tom you would get late goals and drama. Such is football 3-3 at half time and no goals in the 2nd half so far at Bournemouth. Still time for a winner though.

    Don't jinx it Kyle! (Emma)

Ben: Lack of energy, lack of creativity, and lack of passion from Chelsea today. Should have been a win, without question. Disappointing, and now we remain dangerously close to Arsenal in 4th place.

Anthony: Fantastic win for Crystal Palace at Wolves, what a result! After Wolves’ heroics against Tottenham at the weekend, you would have expected Nuno Santo’s men to be brimming with confidence... Not to be.

Jess H: If Chelsea don't sign someone with a bit of creative flair or who can actually kick a ball some time soon, we can say goodbye to top 4

    Bournemouth 3-3 Watford

Roberto Pereya is free on the left as Will Hughes canters through the middle. He tries to find him with a slipped pass but Junior Stanislas just gets a heel in the way which flicks the ball up and kindly allows it to fall into the Bournemouth keeper's hands.

  9. 'A very good goal'published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Newcastle 0-2 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on Radio 5 live

That was the problem Newcastle faced as they got men forward, they got picked off.

It all started with Pogba in the middle of the park. Romelu Lukaku looked up, passed it to Alexis Sanchez and he passes it to Marcus Rashford, who slots it home.

A very good goal for Manchester United.

That should seal it! Manchester United counter nicely, Romelu Lukaku feeds Alexis Sanchez on the edge of the area, he waits, he waits, and then finds Marcus Rashford overlapping on his left. The England man slides the ball through the keeper's legs.
