James Probert: 3 things are guaranteed in life: 1) you pay taxes 2) you die 3) Spurs bottling it every season.

Jon Spurling: I can barely even raise a wry smile that Tottenham consider themselves realistic title contenders and they’ve already lost 6 games. Arsenal need to get their own house in order first. Quite funny nonetheless.

Chris Allen: Both Alli and Kane need to put their hands up and accept they were responsible for Spurs losing. No discredit to De Gea but those shots were simple for De Gea to save.

It's now six of the very best under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The United players are playing for him.

If this carries on, how can they not give him the job? It would be a risk not to.

  3. 'Spurs not clinical enough'published at 18:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2019

    FT: Tottenham 0-1 Man United

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Tottenham weren't clinical enough. They got into some really good positions. On three or four occasions they hit David de Gea rather than him saving them. On another three or four occasions he made some outstanding saves, especially with his feet. He's always been known for that. It was a brilliant performance from him.

Manchester United, the game plan worked. It's as simple as that.

How many points is De Gea worth in a season? Kept United in the game and Ole has won six in a row. Perhaps the media will leave Poch alone to get on with Spurs job as looks like United don't need him

    Malcolm, Spurs fan

All the United players should take a good long look in the mirror and ask themselves how they have managed to win six matches on the trot but on the other hand got one of the top European managers the sack. Shame on all of you.

Manchester United goalscorer Marcus Rashford: "That's the most difficult game, the hardest we have had to work for a result [under Solskjaer] but we put the work in. It doesn't matter, we got the points.

"The near post save form the corner was the best one! We played a different system against a team like this. This is what we have to do to beat the top teams.

"It's a good responsibility to be the main striker but everyone has chipped in. It was the keeper today."

  6. 'Huge moment for Poch?'published at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2019

    FT: Tottenham 0-1 Man United

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Could this be a huge, monumental moment for Mauricio Pochettino, thinking 'look, this is as far as I can take them this Tottenham team? I haven't got a very strong bench, there was no investment in the summer, there'll be no investment in January and I now lose Son to the Asian Cup.'

  7. 'This is the real Manchester United'published at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2019

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to Sky Sports: "We won the game against a top team, we controlled the first half but in the second half they had chances. I was feeling very well with the first two saves, it was a great game.

"I don't even remember some of the saves so I can't pick a best. The manager brought some happiness, the players are playing well and the team is very strong now.

"This is the real Manchester United."

Bezaleel: David De Gea is just a ROCK today.

Ash Williams: If De Gea has gone to Madrid he’d have won trophies. All he gets are man of the match trophies for masking this utd defence.

Ray Speer: I tell you what, if the scoreline stays like this, Ole is putting himself at the head of the queue to replace Poch at Spurs next season.

Babyboomer: De Gea should be Man of the Match but Herrera has had one of his best ever games of chase, tackle, chase, tackle etc.

BetheG: Attitude made big difference. Mourinho must be wondering why the team didn't give him this performance while he was on charge.
