This lets Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies get forward and Spurs need to keep finding the wing-backs.

Antoine Griezmann thinks he's sprung the offside trap and chipped the Brugge keeper but the flag is raised.

It's been a fairly tepid opening so far at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Lots of boos from Spurs fans as Ben Davies is penalised for a foul on Nelson Semedo. Sergio Busquets is getting treatment for an injury.

Jordan Henderson has come out of the traps like a hound after a hare. He's charging around, possibly miffed at being left out in the first place. He needs to bring a touch of composure to this Liverpool side. Their work is good, but the killer ball lacking.

Son Heung-min fouls Barca defender Nelson Semedo and seconds later Sergio Busquets and Lucas Moura come together. I think this is on the verge of boiling over. Like pasta when I leave it for 20 minutes on the hob.
