    Napoli 0-0 Liverpool

Rhythmic singing from the Napoli fans as the clock ticks down towards the break. The defences are winning this half. For Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk is like the foreman. Everything is organised around him.

    Doesn't it just...

Rezza: This game has a late Daniel Sturridge winner written all over it!

Renee: I feel like Spurs are just trying a little too hard. They are playing well enough to get a goal back, but they just need to r-e-l-a-x. They definitely aren’t out of it!

  5. goal

GOAL - Atletico Madrid 1-1 Club Bruggepublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Arnaut Danjuma (39 mins)

    Wow. Pick this one out.

There seems little danger when Arnaut Danjuma picks it up on the right hand corner of the penalty area. Everyone's expecting a cross but the young Dutchman has other ideas.

He hits it with real venom and the ball flies like a rocket into the far corner. That was special.

Joshua: Joe Gomez has been exceptional so far, looks at home in that back four. Composure personified.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

Spurs midfielder Victor Wanyama goes in on Lionel Messi with a badly timed body check from the side and gets booked. A small bit harsh.

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

Barca striker Luis Suarez is down injured after being caught by Davinson Sanchez. More boos for the Uruguayan - who gets up and continues after a few seconds.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:38 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Monaco

Monaco have been the better side but it's Dortmund who so nearly take the lead.

Neat interplay in midfield before Paco Alcacer looks up and bends for the far post. Diego Benaglio in goal does not move but the shot grazes the frame of the goal and goes behind.

Just seen another replay of that Ivan Rakitic goal - I might invite it round for dinner and send it a Valentine's card next year.

  12. Postpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Napoli 0-0 Liverpool

Mo Salah gets beyond the Napoli back four, but his ball across the box is to no one in particular. When they go forward, Liverpool look outnumbered. Napoli are getting bodies into more advanced positions with greater ease.

  13. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho has been directly involved in as many goals in the opening 28 minutes for Barcelona against Tottenham as he did in 715 minutes for Liverpool against the north London club (1 goal, 1 assist).

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

Lionel Messi is allowed to shoot from 20 yards out, Hugo Lloris parries it down from under the bar and holds onto the loose ball. The keeper has had a couple of those where he has needed two attempts to grab the ball.

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There's a real menace about Barcelona when they get 40 yards out from goal, it looks like one pass from Barcelona will lead to a goal.

  16. 'Barca going for the kill'published at 20:36 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Spurs are in danger of sustaining some real damage here now as they have to chase the game. It was a magnificent piece of technique from Ivan Rakitic and Barcelona are going in for the kill to sort this one out before half-time.

Mauricio Pochettino's side need something quickly but once again they have responded well to another setback. Barcelona, however, are simply ruthless.

  17. goal

GOAL - PSV 1-0 Inter Milanpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Pablo Rosario (27 mins)

He had a sighter just before, but now Pablo Rosario does have a goal from distance.

And what a hit this is.

PSV spray the ball around the edge of the box confidently before Rosario works himself some space and bends it into the far top corner. Inter keeper Samir Handanovic didn't even move.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:33 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

A wonderful save by Marc-Andre ter Stegen keeps Barcelona two goals again. Lucas Moura's cross comes off a Barca defender and is goalbound before the keeper somehow changes his body shape to get an arm up and keep it out.

  19. Postpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Napoli 0-0 Liverpool

Mo Salah was getting no room on the right, being more closely guarded than David Budd on Julia Montague (until the unpleasantness, anyway). He switched to the centre, then back to the right. At t'other end, Arkadiusz Milik stings Alison's palms. Napoli have had the better chances.

  20. Postpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 3 October 2018

    Spurs 0-2 Barcelona

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Because the full-backs are pushing on, it's giving Barcelona the chances down the channels for Messi and Busquets to pick passes through the defence.
