    Really good play by Mikey Johnston and exactly what Brendan Rodgers will have been looking for from his substitutions. Inject a bit of pace, direct play, cutting inside then driving back towards the goal-line. It looked like Sinclair was going to find the net.

    James Forrest, in a lot of games, plays a little bit deeper to try and protect Mikael Lustig. That changes the dynamic of the team slightly. Celtic's forward attacking play has suffered because they don't have that attacking midfielder, like Stuart Armstrong, who runs beyond the strikers. And there's a lack of competition in that area.

    Calleja lamented the loss of centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori midway through the second half and he thought his side missed the Argentine's physicality.

    The Villarreal coach said he had made nine changes from their weekend win in La Liga because he wants to get "almost all the players" involved early in the season.

    There's just a little cutting edge lacking. When was the last time Celtic put someone to the sword early on? They just don't look like they've got the killer instinct yet. Brendan Rodgers will be slightly concerned they've not got that goal yet.

    I'd be surprised if Celtic don't win this. Apart from it being good for their group prospects, they need a positive result after the goalless draw at St Mirren last Friday. This club needs to up it because the performances haven't been consistent. They do need a win.
