    Vivianne Miedema

    Arsenal are unstoppable here!

    Jordan Nobbs

A big slice of luck for the Gunners - and that should be game over.

Jordan Nobbs picks up the ball wide on the right and her attempted cross catches the strong wind to totally embarrass Chelsea keeper Carly Telford.

There's no way she meant that. But Arsenal won't care. That's them back on top of the WSL tonight for sure.

  4. All change for Brightonpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 14 October 2018

    Everton Ladies 2-1 Brighton Women

The Seagulls were in front but conceded twice before half-time to go in behind at the break.

It seems boss Hope Powell wasn't too impressed. She's made two changes at the interval; Amanda Nilden and Ellie Brazil replace Ini Umotong and Kate Natkiel.

    Will it make a difference?

  5. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Chelsea Women 0-2 Arsenal Women

That huge job nearly got a bit easier.

Arsenal keeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin could only parry a Ramona Bachmann shot but, with Drew Spence set to poke into an empty net, Gunners defender Leah Williamson produced a superb goal-saving intervention.

  6. Goal-den Gunnerspublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 14 October 2018

    Chelsea Women 0-2 Arsenal Women

That is now 30 goals in Arsenal's opening five-and-a-half games in all competitions this season.

The Gunners have beaten Liverpool 5-0, Yeovil 7-0 and West Ham 4-3 in the WSL - as well as thrashing Lewes 9-0 and defeating the Hammers 3-1 in the Continental Tyres Cup.

Even given that fantastic scoring record, being 2-0 up at the defending champions after 45 minutes might well trump the lot.

Arsenal look a danger every time they go forward and Chelsea have a huge job on their hands to get back into this one.

The Gunners will hope to leapfrog Manchester City, who climbed to the summit with a 7-1 thrashing of West Ham in the earlier kick-off.

  19. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Chelsea Women 0-1 Arsenal Women

Little is causing Chelsea some big problems. She nearly nets a second goal with a neat turn and shot from just inside the box that floats inches over.

Then she chases back to the other end to cut out Fran Kirby's cross. That's a box-to-box midfielder right there.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 14 October 2018

Man City Women 7-1 West Ham Women

That's it, Man City have won at a canter here at the Academy Stadium.

Nikita Parris and Georgia Stanway both scored braces, while Caroline Weir, Steph Houghton and Tessa Wullaert all got on the scoresheet.

Esmee De Graaf's strike proved nothing more than a consolation.

After a hit-and-miss start to the campaign, Man City's performance today looks pretty ominous for the rest of the WSL! They go top of the league, for a short time at least.
