Nikita Parris has been on fire this season.

Here's the moment she capitalised on a West Ham defensive error to nod home.

Man City Women 3-0 West Ham Women

Caroline Weir floats a superb corner right through the six-yard box and Jill Scott is closest to it, but the England international can only flick her header wide of the post.

Weir has been outstanding so far.

    Here's the opener...

What a strike it was by Caroline Weir!

Man City Women 3-0 West Ham Women

Brianna Visalli sends a shot over the top for West Ham after a corner is only half-cleared.

It's better, but not quite the precision the hosts have shown at the other end.

  5. United lead at half-time - justpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 14 October 2018

Manchester United Women 1-0 Charlton Athletic Women

Casey Stoney's side lead Charlton 1-0 at half-time in the WSL Championship - but they had to survive a late first-half scare as Elizabeta Ejupi's header rattled the bar for the Addicks who, like United, are unbeaten in the league this season.

Ejupi's former team Aston Villa - without a point after three games and thrashed 12-0 by United in the season's opener - are locked in a 0-0 stalemate with Durham at half-time of the other Championship noon kick-off.

Man City Women 3-0 West Ham Women

We've just seen footage of West Ham head coach Matt Beard looking through his tactics booklet.

"Concede three goals inside the first 17 minutes," probably doesn't feature, I guess.

    This is becoming a rout.

Caroline Weir turns brilliantly and slides the ball through for Nikita Parris.

England international Parris rounds Becky Spencer and slots into the empty net for her sixth of the campaign.

We've played 17 minutes and surely this game is over as a contest already.

"It's important Manchester City keep pushing on. It's a great start but even at 2-0, if West Ham get one they'll feel like they're right back in the game. Man City just need to keep possession."

    Nikita Parris

This isn't going to plan for West Ham.

A horrible attempted clearance from Ria Percival puts the visitors in all sorts of trouble and Nikita Parris pounces.

The WSL top scorer sends a clever back header looping over Spencer and into the net. That's five for the season already!

    What a start!

Caroline Weir advances into the penalty area and slams a bouncing ball into the top corner on the half-volley.

West Ham keeper Becky Spencer had no chance!

Manchester United Women 1-0 Charlton Athletic Women

While Manchester City has only just kicked off against West Ham in the WSL, cross-city rivals United are well underway against Charlton Athletic in the WSL Championship - and they are already a goal to the good.

Katie Zelem has curled past Addicks keeper Katie Startup to put the table-toppers - who have also had a Kirsty Hanson goal disallowed for offside - well on the way to maintaining their unbeaten league start.

There was a nice touch before the game as seven-year-old Darcy Yarnold - whose story went viral after she was picked on while playing mixed football - led the United team out as their matchday mascot.

    England international Scott passed fit

Man City Women make two changes from their 3-2 victory over Birmingham City last time out, with Esme Morgan and Claire Emslie recalled, replacing Abbie McManus and Georgia Stanway.

Jill Scott has recovered from the ankle injury that forced her to withdraw from international duty with England and she starts for the home team.

As for the visitors, they've made just one change following their 2-1 win over Yeovil Town Ladies.

Forward Esmee de Graaf drops to the bench, with US defender Brooke Hendrix taking her place, possibly hinting at a change of shape for the London club.

Following the game at Man City, we'll turn our attentions to matters at Kingsmeadow, where there's a tasty-looking London derby in store.

Defending champions Chelsea have something of a point to prove, after drawing three of the first four games of their title defence.

And Arsenal arrive in South West London in red-hot form, having won all three of their matches so far in style, scoring 16 goals in the process.

It should be a cracker, and could help shape the narrative of this season's title race.
