"It's harsh on West Ham. They've tried to come out and create opportunities with free-flowing football. You want teams to play that way, so at least they've given it a go. They'll learn from this experience."

    Georgia Stanway

Still goalless at Kingsmeadow but it won't be for much longer if Chelsea winger Fran Kirby has her way.

Having scared the life out of Arsenal on the right flank several times already, she switches to the left and cuts inside but fires straight at visiting keeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.

The England star looks very lively. Arsenal beware.

Early days it may be, but it looks increasingly like we will see a Manchester derby in the women's top flight next season.

Casey Stoney's United have continued their impressive start to the season by brushing aside fellow unbeaten WSL Championship outfit Charlton Athletic 3-0.

That's four wins and a draw from five games for United, who sit top of the division, yet to concede a goal. Strikes from Katie Zelem, Jess Sigsworth and Lizzie Arnot saw off the Addicks.

The other early WSL Championship kick-off has finished too, Aston Villa Ladies collecting their first point of the season with a goalless draw at home to Durham Women.
