  2. 'We didn't kill the game'published at 17:27 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

    Tottenham Hotspur

Speaking to BBC Sport, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "After Barcelona on Wednesday, the most important thing was to win. We created a lot of chances but we didn't kill the game. I'm happy to finish with 18 points going into the international break. We only conceded a few chances and we finished the game on top.

"We are one point off the top of the Premier League but we need to improve a lot. Now we have two weeks before the next game but it is a very tough schedule when we return. We hope that more of our players will be available after the break."

On Joe Ralls' red card: "It was a clear red card from my point of view but it is difficult for referees to judge. It is not my business to judge another manager or another team. Neil Warnock can complain but it is not my business."

  3. 'We sat off them in the second half'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Burnley

Burnley striker Sam Vokes: "It's disappointing in the end taking the lead at home you want to hold on to that but Huddersfield were strong and we were sloppy at times.

It's another point for us and on the back of two wins and a draw we can be confident heading into the international break.

In the first half we took the game to them and sat off in the second which is disappointing especially at home but we will look at that over the international break.

The results lately have been huge to us as they've given us a positive feeling after our poor start to the season, seven points is massive in this league.

Huddersfield look to get crosses in the box and we handled it except for the one we let in at the end there. Huddersfield are a strong side and they played well today."

  4. 'Not the perfect performance'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Watford 0-4 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking with Sky Sports: "We are very pleased with the result. This is a tough place to come and Watford have been in good form. It wasn't the perfect performance but we are happy.

"We believe we are capable of beating anyone when we are on top of our game. It is good that I think there is room to improve. We like to stay in the background and as underdogs. We will go about our work in a controlled way.

"David (Brooks) is an outstanding young player who has looked the part. He is creating and scoring goals. He has a great mentality - not flashy or phased. He is professional and has a great future ahead."

  5. 'No targets'published at 17:16 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo on BBC Sport: "The Premier League is not easy – it requires a lot of effort and hard work from the boys.

"I’m really pleased because it is a tough stadium to come, the fans of Palace are really good. We did not start so good but when you look at the whole game we were the better team, the way we controlled the game in the second half.

"I look at the situation before – the base of team was here last season, so everyone knows their tasks. All the squad know their tasks, and with other options for sure the response would be good as well.

"We go game by game – now it is the international break, players can go to their teams, enjoy it and and play some good football.

"We will work with other aspects of the squad and we go game by game - there are no targets."

  7. 'We could have scored more goals'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld said: "After Wednesday it was physically and mentally difficult, but we did well.

"It wasn't perfect, and we have to improve, but it's good to get three points before the international break. Cardiff defended well and were organised, but if we were a bit more clinical, we could have scored more goals.

"Lucas Moura is quick and smart and he is in good form. I'm enjoying paying with him and hopefully he can maintain his level."

  8. 'The boys are on fire'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Watford 0-4 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth forward David Brooks: "Hopefully I can continue this form but the main focus was three points and we got that. As an attacking player you want to create and score as many as you can. The boys are on fire.

"I came here to prove I was good enough for the Premier League and I hope I am doing that."

Bournemouth forward Joshua King on Brooks: "He has been brilliant. He is a young lad but he has shown he has the talent. I didn't think he would start as well as he has but he's shown age is just a number."
