GOAL - Red Star Belgrade 1-2 Paris St-Germanpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Marko Gobeljic

Oh hello! Are Red Star going to do Liverpool a favour?

Well, we say a favour... it doesn't matter to Liverpool as long as they win 1-0.

Anyway, more of that if we need it. Red Star give themselves a lifeline with a beauty of a volley from Marko Gobeljic.

    PSG slightly rattled...

Eriksen's dead ball deliveries in this game have been poor - so far. Just one, Christian, just give us one.

  8. Postpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Napoli

Napoli need a goal. Or Thursday night football beckons in the New Year.

But, as you can see from their average positions, the Serie A side are hardly pressing forward in numbers.

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 Tottenham

Munir El Haddadi with a lovely low first-time finish played beyond the last line - but he is offside.

  10. Liverpool poised as Napoli pushpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Napoli have to score or their Champions League campaign is over - and that might just play to the pace Liverpool possess in the shape of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

The fact Napoli could do such damage with a single goal is adding to the tension inside Anfield.

  11. Postpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Napoli

I think for the first time in the match that I can recall, Liverpool go back home with the ball deep in Napoli's half. A sense they're just playing ever so slightly more conservatively.

But what do I know? Here comes Mohamed Salah risking a run across goal and a shot that Kalidou Koulibaly blocks with his substantial legs.

    Liverpool 1-0 Napoli

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Liverpool have started very well with a good tempo, but they have to keep it up because this Napoli side are very good and we know what they are capable of.

  13. CHANCES!published at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 Tottenham

    Another big opening goes begging!

Barcelona are exposed at right-back and Danny Rose cuts back in the box but behind Harry Kane.

    And another!

Son Heung-min with the whole goal to aim at after Christian Eriksen's disguised pass - straight at the keeper.

Tunde: I think Liverpool will love a clean sheet as it stands more than anything. Even more than a second goal.

Ian: Liverpool fans get so used to having the ref on their side every Saturday that they struggle when they get a neutral one

Mike: Liverpool fans worrying about the ref, bit hypocritical don't you think!

  15. Postpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 Tottenham

What a block that is from Kyle Walker-Peters.

Ousmane Dembele sprinted down the right wing and cut back into the box for Philiipe Coutinho. The kind of ball he's raced onto and finished first time on thousands of occasions.

He takes an extra touch, Walker-Peters chases him down and launches into a sliding body-stop. Superb defending. Spurs were wide open.

It looked like Mo Salah was under pressure so he goes for the near post, and I couldn't see him scoring from there.

  17. CLOSE!published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Napoli

Liverpool are looking much more comfortable, in charge of their own destiny, a goal to the good. They do need more though.

Mohamed Salah should do better, played into space in the box he shuffles a right-foot finish meekly past the post.

  18. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 Tottenham

Spurs are really going for this. A sensational start to the second half. They know they can't rely on the result in Milan.

  19. CHANCES!published at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 Tottenham

Big chances for Spurs. Harry Kane runs free on the left, he plays in Christian Eriksen with space to shoot in the box. Blocked. The rebound falls to Dele Alli - Barca look exposed - but Clement Lenglet launches himself into a challenge.

Kane now runs clear on goal - Lenglet is there with him - Kane fires wildly over the bar and looks to be claiming Lenglet had shoved him. It would have been very soft.

  20. Postpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Napoli

Early Liverpool pressure. James Milner sends in two corners but the second is easily fielded by David Ospina.
