The best chances are coming to the visitors at the moment. They have plenty of pace about them. But more than that they a prepared to attack.

We've often seen these types of games be a little on the dull side but there's not a bit of that here. It's a really good game, flowing from end-to-end.

Hoffenheim have shown in these opening minutes that they want to attack Manchester City.

They want to win this game to get into the Europa League. Nobody expected Lyon to win here but they did. They are not going to be intimidated by City.

Half a chance for Hoffenheim as they work it nicely out to Nico Schultz on the left, his cross is sharp and Florian Grillitsch stabs it wide of the target. Difficult one to hit.

Paul Pogba has started noticeably high up the pitch tonight, with both Fred and Andreas Pereira in alongside him.

There was nothing wrong with that from Benjamin Hubner.

He was in a perfectly reasonable position and Raheem Sterling just ran straight into him. He could not get out of the way.

There are some empty sky blue seats dotted around the stadium, but considering the temperature and the nature of the game, I think it is a pretty good turnout less than two weeks before Christmas.

Man City 0-0 Hoffenheim

I felt that from up here! Raheem Sterling's first run of the night ends with a winding, the Englishman runs full pelt into Benjamin Hubner. The Hoffenheim captain couldn't get out of the way and it's not a foul but that would have stung the lungs.

Romelu Lukaku does well to forage and win the ball back for Manchester United but it comes to nothing. Plenty of spare seats in the Mestalla. I went to Valencia in the summer of 2009 and they were halfway through building a new stadium near the airport. What happened there?
