As soon as I say that United mount an attack, a cross is headed out to Ander Herrera but his shot from the edge of the area is well scuffed wide.

PSG well on top now. Manchester United are struggling to get on the ball at all since half time.

Edward Taylor: To concede a goal with awful defending is bad enough but to have it scored by a player that should not even be on the pitch is angering.

Billy Sheerin: Ref throwing around yellows but doesn’t send the goal scorer off for three fouls after his booking!

Sion Roberts: Most frustrating thing is Kimpempe should have had a second yellow about 3 times before that goal

  4. CLOSE!published at 56 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 PSG

All of a sudden Manchester United have turned into Everton at set-pieces, all over the shop as David de Gea punches a corner out, Dani Alves catches a volley like a dream, it hits Paul Pogba on the thigh and spins about a yard wide!

    So nearly two!

    Phil Neville
Ex-Man Utd and England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

You can feel it coming the last few minutes it's almost as if United are waiting to concede a goal.

It was poor defending from Nemanja Matic, who has arguably been United's best player- a brilliant ball into the box from di Maria.

That goal has been coming and Manchester United haven't started yet in the second half.

Angel di Maria wans't shy in celebrating that against his old club and straight away he wins a corner off Ashley Young with another driving run.

The United fans down in that corner are giving Di Maria plenty...

    Presnel Kimpembe

Should Presnel Kimpembe have been sent off by now? You could make a case...

But now he puts PSG into the lead! Basic stuff really, Angel di Maria bends in the corner, it's not attacked and the centre-half meets it at the far post, side-footing in a volley into the roof of the net.

A bit like Thierry Henry v Brazil, 2006...

PSG are on top since the break, and now they do fashion a proper chance. Dani Alves lifts in a cross from the right, Kylian Mbappe heads it down and that's well pushed around the post by David de Gea!

Sho: Huge blow using Lingard and Martial. Their explosiveness and energy helps out Rashford so much.

Jake Lawson: Sad to see di Maria looking so average He scored a stunner against us [Leicester City] a few years back. Such a great goal that I can't even recall how that match ended...

Helles Mammut: Not sure where people see any changes or improvements, that looked just like Mourinho's United to me.

Another booking as Victor Lindelof has a bit of a grab on Kylian Mbappe's shirt. Referee Daniele Orsato is going to need a bigger yellow card to fit all this on.

It was a busy press room downstairs, with at least three former international footballers in there working for various TV and radio outlets.

I probably don't need to say which one wanted to know what the Oldham score was.

    Oldham 2-1 Yeovil

Having seen his new side take the lead in first-half-stoppage time, Paul Scholes celebrated again soon after the restart when Callum Lang headed in.

However, that smile soon turned into a frown as defender Bevis Mugabi fired in for Yeovil to once again make it a tense affair at Boundary Park.

How will Scholes' managerial debut end?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now lost two big attacking weapons in Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

Interesting that he has stuck with mobility in the shape of Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata rather than the physicality of Romelu Lukaku.

Moses Odengo: OGS must be concerned with Lingard injured and Marital playing below his best! He needs the wide men fit for the big games in sequence

436: I really do hope Sanchez proves he can solve our right wing problems in the second half. He's got the bit in him, he just needs to show the world. He won't dance like Lingard tho, that's for sure

Stephen Brogarth: everyone saying no Neymar and Cavani for PSG but Utd are clearly playing without Pogba tonight
