  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Liverpool

A ball is played over the top for Robert Lewandowski and Virgil van Dijk just gets a toe in. It's still loose though and there's a coming together before the Bayern striker goes down.

Plenty of appeals from the home supporters. Didn't look like much to me but probably worth a VAR shout?

    Barcelona 0-0 Lyon

It's been one-way traffic so far but Tanguy NDombele comes close with a drilled shot from just inside the box for Lyon.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Liverpool

A sloppy pass from Roberto Firmino falls straight into the path of Thiago Alcantara on the edge of the Liverpool area.

His shot flies over the bar but that was a good chance for Bayern...

Jordan Henderson is getting his foot re-strapped. Fabinho hasn't been called over. Looks like the Liverpool skipper is fine to continue.

I think Bayern are going to try and out-press Liverpool. There is no pattern to the game at the moment.

Jordan Henderson has just gone down clutching his foot and has taken off his boot. He's had a history of injuries with his foot. Hopefully Jurgen Klopp won't be needing to make any changes just yet...

Bayern have had most of the ball so far. Liverpool sitting nice and tight in midfield.

Paul Walmsley: I think just as worrying about the Liverpool central midfield is the limited options from the bench. I'd only rate Shaqiri as the one who could change the game, but we all know Klopp won't bring him on...

You can already hear the Bayern supporters. Liverpool need to start brightly, don't give the opposition any opportunities and get the quick passing to release the front three.

Jurgen Klopp can change it if he needs to but I do feel sorry for Fabinho as he has been their best midfielder for two, three or four months.

That Liverpool midfield looks far too slow. Expect Milner and/or Henderson yellow cards or worse.

    Rob in Finchley

Can't believe Klopp has gone with the same lame midfield that lost all 3 away group games.

    Ian in Liverpool

Huge mistake not to start Fabinho. Sideways Henderson and Slow Milner will struggle to cope with a more direct Bayern and the front three will end up having to come deep looking for the ball then have to turn into traffic.

Bayern Munich v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Sander Westerveld
Former Liverpool goalkeeper on Radio 5 live

Everybody wants Liverpool to win the league - that's the main one. But, as we did in 2001, I think you should just go for all the silverware you can get, and don’t pull your foot back because you think ‘Aah, maybe if we’re out of the Champions League, we have more chance of winning the league’

They just have to go for both. It gives you so much confidence. Look at Juventus yesterday. If you play a game like this, it gives you such a boost for the Premier League as well.

  20. 'Who wants it more'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

Bayern Munich v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "It’s like the second half of a game - it's about who wants it more.

"It's clear for both teams about taking an offensive risk. We wanted to score at Anfield and we want to score tonight. If one or the other team score then things change."

On the team selection with Jordan Henderson and James Milner recalled: "We wanted to have as many fresh legs on the pitch, especially in midfield. Henderson and Milner have played often together. They offer a mix of being solid and being athletes."
