On Son Heung-min being available for Tottenham tomorrow...

It's a big plus for Tottenham, but they are up against it. Can they do it? It will be easier for them than Liverpool but they are up against a very good team. Ajax are a team that other teams have overlooked earlier in the season.

Jordan Henderson leads out the Liverpool players for their warm-up. A captain's performance needed in that Liverpool midfield.

Jurgen Klopp surveys the players as usual from afar. All eyes on Xherdan Shaqiri - who makes his first competitive start for Liverpool since January - a 1-1 draw with Leicester in the Premier League.

Tonight is Shaqiri's 30th Champions League appearance (15th start) as well as being his 30th Liverpool appearance (15th start).

If Liverpool end the season without a trophy they will have to take tremendous positives in the way they entertained us. They have provided some amazing football this season.

They've been so close and they have pushed the best team that we've seen in the Premier League so closely. Liverpool can go again, can build and they will not be going away. It's only a matter of time.

Mo, Manchester: It's hard enough to keep them from scoring but with Milner and Henderson creating chances of our own is going to be the hardest task. Here's hoping Shaqs and Mane can come up with some magic, always believing but this is a mountain task ....even one that's probably going to be too much for Liverpool.

David E: A daunting task for Liverpool tonight. One Barca goal and Liverpool will need to score 5 without Mo Salah and Bobby

Guillem also said that Lionel Messi was nearly sick on the pitch at one point in the second half as he was so knackered.

Possibly the only time in my life that I can say: I know how it feels to be Messi for a moment...

Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the most talked about players in the previews. When you have someone like Jordi Alba attacking there is space behind him and you know Messi will not be tracking back.

Ernesto Valverde has said "we have to attack" and they will do so that will make for a special spectacle. He has told his players that there will be a point when people in the crowd think "this is possible" so it will be about not making mistakes.

In the first game, for long periods when Liverpool had the ball and pressured high, the front two - Messi and Suarez - were getting frustrated. After the game Messi said "we were so tired" because the game was played at the pace Liverpool wanted.

Barcelona went with a 4-1 lead to Roma last season [in the Champions League quarter-finals] and lost 3-0 in the second leg [to go out on away goals]. They were not mentally prepared for that game but they are now.

This is the most offensive-minded team Barcelona have got and they are prepared to score.

On Liverpool being without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino...

It's a big blow for Liverpool and I'm sure they regret the result last week as they had three incredible chances to score.

It's not impossible but they are going to have to play the perfect game and get a bit of luck.

They need this crowd and this place will be rocking, but if they concede in the first half it will be very flat. It's a very tough task but not an impossible one.

Liverpool will get chances this evening. In the first game they failed to take them.

Francis Edwards: Liverpool fans expect Suarez not to celebrate - yet badmouth his every step. Respect goes both ways - he almost singlehandedly won the league for you when you had the worst defence in the league!

Phil Jenkins: I won't care if Suarez celebrates. Hate when players don't. At the end of the day he is a Barcelona player. As much as we hate that fact!!

Nick: Suarez was a wonderful servant of Liverpool FC. Hope he gets a suitably rousing reception, and then has a shocker!

That's quite enough Suarez celebration chat for now, thanks

If Liverpool fans out there need to be convinced that they can turn this tie around, they should read Jurgen Klopp's programme notes ahead of tonight's game.

"Words and phrases won't win us this contest," he writes. "Our fans are smart - so are the Barca supporters. The situation is the situation. They have a lead and we need to strike back.

"But both clubs being smart also means everyone knows we are not finished and we are Liverpool. So: let's play and see.

"Here is one thing everyone inside Anfield knows, including our opponents. This Liverpool never stops. This Liverpool never quits."
