What a pass! Sergio Busquets finds a gem of a ball through to Jordi Alba, the key man for Barca in many ways I always think. He's in on goal, but tries to square it for Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk is able to tackle him.
Should have shot - but if you can pass to Messi, it's normally the best option I suppose...

Dom, Cornwall: Liverpool certainly look fired up. Gotta be careful not to let that become overaggressive though. There's passion and then there's leaving your team with 10 men. Fine line!
Mike Greenwood: Mane diving in the penalty area at the 1st opportunity, I can see a lot of that from Liverpool tonight. It's worked for them all season
Ash Williams: How is it Barcelona fall over and get free kicks that are questionable but Liverpool get nothing?

Barcelona getting a feel for the ball for the first real time, slowing the tempo down. Playing the game they want to play. Patient build-up, pantomime boos from the Anfield crowd.

Virgil van Dijk booms a crossfield pass out to Xherdan Shaqiri and he wants a foul but doesn't get one, and now Barca counter.
Jordi Alba finds Lionel Messi with a cutback, his shot is heading in but Alisson tips it over! There he is...

Just the start the neutrals wanted at Anfield. Keeps the tie alive.
Liverpool's gegenpressing is off the charts.

I thought that was a hard, but fair challenge.

Fabinho is in hard on Luis Suarez and he's booked - Ian Dennis thinks that's a great tackle. It is firm for sure!
Fabinho stands over Suarez, giving him loads.
Divock Origi is the third Belgian to score in the Champions League semi-finals, after Radja Nainggolan (two for Roma against Liverpool last year) and Philippe Leonard (for Monaco against Juventus in 1998).

There was absolute bedlam in the stands around me when Divock Origi tapped in. Directly below us Jurgen Klopp was keeping relatively calm by his standards, clenching both his fists, and staring manically into the crowd.

Sadio Mane throws himself to the deck inside the area and is waved to his feet by Cuneyt Cakir - no chance.

Barcelona are rattled! Another poor backpass almost plays Divock Origi in on goal again, Marc-Andre ter Stegen was well outside of his goal.
SETTLE. Settle.

What a start for Liverpool. If you thought this place was rocking, listen to it now. I thought Henderson had fluffed the chance and Origi tucks it into the back of the net and the crowd are going crazy.
Brilliant play from Mane, he read the poor header from Alba and kept the ball moving.
Divock Origi
THERE IT IS!
Anfield into the stratosphere. A terrible header in the Barcelona defence is snaffled by Sadio Mane, he plays Jordan Henderson in, his shot is saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen and there is Saturday's hero, Divock Origi, for a tap-in!
Barcelona wobbled?

It's 60% possession from the hosts so far - and they win another corner. An early Liverpool goal would give this game lift-off...

The Liverpool fans know they have a part to play tonight and they are giving it everything so far.
Their chants have not stopped since the game started, and the Reds supporters are on their feet and urging their team forwards every time there is a sniff of an opening, or a run forward.

Guernsey Yankees Fan: Andy Robertson, don’t make Messi angry, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
Dave Payn: You shouldn’t make Lionel Messi angry....
Liverpool 0-0 Barcelona (Agg: 0-3)
Liverpool press Barca keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen right on his goal line but he does well to play his way out. Xherdan Shaqiri gives the ball away and then the Anfield crowd cheer as Luis Suarez's pass is behind Lionel Messi and out.
