It does seem a bit odd to me, at least, that Chelsea can own so many players and yet still end up in a situation where they 'only' have Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata as options to play as a striker. I guess they've all got to play somewhere though.

Paul: Morata playing as he does makes you wonder how Batshuayi never got a consistent run in the side. He's better, just never gets a decent run. But loaning him to Dortmund meant they could sell Aubameyang to Arsenal who in turn shifted an inconsistent Giroud to Chelsea.

Kev McVeigh: Chelsea need a striker? Maybe but they've scored as many as Liverpool so far this season. The way Chelsea play goals come from all over not a single point like at Spurs. It's been like that for most of last 20 seasons.

    Arsenal v Qarabag (20:00 GMT)

Laurent Koscielny makes his comeback after missing a World Cup win with injury. Harsh. Mesut Ozil will be delighted, I'm sure, to get a start too. There are nine canges in total from the weekend.

  4. Tierney returns for Celticpublished at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2018

    Celtic v Salzburg (20:00)

    Celtic starting XI

Celtic XI: Gordon, Lustig, Simunovic, Benkovic, Tierney, McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Forrest, Sinclair, Edouard.

As expected, left-back Kieran Tierney returns from a hamstring problem, replacing Emilio Izaguirre. That's the only change from Saturday's 5-1 win over Kilmarnock, which means club captain Scott Brown is once again among the substitutes.

    20:00 GMT kick-offs

AC Milan need a point against Olympiakos to make sure of a place in the knockout stages. If the Greek hosts win 2-0, 3-1 or by three goals, they will progress and knock the Italian giants out.

Slavia Prague need a draw at home to group winners Zenit St Petersburg to progress. If they lose then the winners of FC Copenhagen v Bordeaux (if there is a winner) will be in the last 32.

Three groups are basically decided - with just top spot to be sorted between Bayer Leverkusen and FC Zurich.

And we have already discussed Celtic's situation.

Celtic will be through if they win or draw, or if Leipzig do not beat Rosenborg.

    MOL Vidi 1-1 Chelsea

Alvaro Morata is having some treatment, we'll keep an eye on that. Save! Loic Nego has another effort from a flowing counter attack, it's frimly struck from the edge of the area and Willy Caballero is very competent, diving to his left to tip it away.

    Good effort for the hosts.

    MOL Vidi 1-1 Chelsea

Great football that by Chelsea. Callum Hudson-Odoi skips past two challenges with ease, he finds David Zappacosta on the overlap and his cutback almost finds Ruben Loftus-Cheek for a tap in. Vidi clear their lines, but it comes straight back in, and Alvaro Morata flicks an effort on goal.

Saved. And Morata has hurt his knee on landing.

    MOL Vidi 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea can go through the gears at will here. They force a flurry of corners but Andreas Christensen is pinged for climbing at the far post. Another Chelsea fringe man who may need to make a move?

Or does he stay and Gary Cahill departs?

  16. Postpublished at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2018

    MOL Vidi 1-1 Chelsea

A sleeper classic on the way in Budapest? End to end stuff now as Ruben Loftus-Cheek finds Alvaro Morata inside the area and his shot is turned away for a corner.

    Ethan Ampadu (OG 32mins)

    What a response!

Vidi level almost instantly, a corner is whipped in superbly from the right, Marko Scepovic flicks it on at the near post and Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu, in a poor position, heads it into his own net under pressure.

It's no Phil Jones special. mind. Only the second goal the Blues have conceded in the group.

    Willian (30 mins)

    Yep, he will!

Willian is a class act from these situations, he bends the free-kick over the wall nicely but it's not right in the corner. You'd expect your goalkeeper to save that, I think.

Not the best effort from Adam Kovacsik. Chelsea lead thanks to their first shot on target.

    MOL Vidi 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea pop the ball about with a nice rhythm and tempo, but there's no intensity to their game. Who can blame them? Willian is fouled in a dangerous area now though.

    Bend this one in?

  20. BATE heading through...published at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2018

    PAOK Thessaloniki 0-1 BATE Borisov

Maksim Skavysh has handed BATE the lead in Greece.

That goal means BATE are going through with Chelsea in Group L, as the Belarusians need to win, or draw if Vidi do not win.
