  2. 'What a story' for Sarripublished at 22:13 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

    Alan Pardew
Former Newcastle and West Ham manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

For managers like myself, what a great story that Maurizio Sarri has had to work this long to finally win a trophy. And he won it in style. He's had some real down times this season. He's managed to battle through that and you have to do that in the Premier League.

  3. 'Not been an easy season for Chelsea'published at 22:13 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Cesc Fabregas
Chelsea and Spain midfielder on BT Sport

It has not been an easy season for Chelsea and I have been a part of it, so I'm very proud and I'm very happy for the players.

Disappointed but can't complain really. This is our current level and Chelsea were better. Giroud is such a class act - I have no issues players celebrating against former clubs but love him more for trying so hard not to.

Hope Sarri gets his deserved plaudits and hope we let Hazard get the dream move he deserves. Ultimately no complaints from me this season.

Yomi: I think Arsenal should look to get Massimiliano Allegri. He is free.

Seth: How do you even play a goalkeeper who is going to be director at Chelsea? This Arsenal are never serious! What a shame! Congrats to Chelsea!

Gary Cahill truly takes on the John Terry mantle, appearing in full kit to lift the trophy along with Cesar Azpilicueta!

Another man on the move this summer. And a very good free signing for someone.

  9. Sarri to say 'I'm off'?published at 22:05 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It'll be interesting to hear where Maurizio Sarri goes from here. Is he going to make some statement and say 'listen guys, there's your trophy. You wanted someone else, you can have your wish - I'm off!'

He might well do that, who knows.

Third place, League Cup runners-up and the Europa League in your back pocket - there have been worse Chelsea seasons, I can tell you.

You look at Unai Emery and he has inherited a lot of problems. I don't think he will turn his back on the club now, but it hurts to not be in the Champions League for a third year in a row. It's not good enough and it would be wrong for me to criticise Mesut Ozil but Arsenal had him in midfield and Chelsea had Eden Hazard.

Now here come Chelsea to celebrate and collect a medal. Apparently Cesc Fabregas - now at Monaco and working pitchside for BT Sport tonight - is eligible for one.

Go down there Cesc! Full suit.

  13. 'Sarri hasn't felt the love'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

This season has to be a success for Maurizio Sarri. It's had peaks and troughs. It started well, it then lost its way and there was a lot of confusion around him and the direction he appeared to be taking the team. But they gathered themselves and he weathered that storm.

He hasn't felt the love. Most Chelsea managers, when they go in there, they got that. He got it to start with but he hasn't felt that he's admired by the Chelsea fans. Now I'd like to think that those who have doubted him will pay credit to his resilience because it's not been easy.

  14. 'Emotional'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

Even I'm feeling emotional. What a performance by Eden Hazard with two goals and it is probably goodbye after seven years of fantastic service to this football club.

I think every fan in the Premier League will be sad to see him leave.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud: "It was an interesting first half but there were no goals. It was a good final and we have been better, more efficient in the second half.

"I am very proud, this team deserved to win something. It was special for me, I am happy for this club. It's my second trophy in two years.

"These two clubs changed my life, they gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League. I didn't want to celebrate against Arsenal but I am so proud to win this trophy with Chelsea.

"When you give me the chance to get game time I always try my best. It was our second target to win the Europa League after finishing in the top four so I feel blessed."

How much do we think Chelsea are going to get for Eden Hazard?

  17. 'I think it is a goodbye'published at 21:58 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

    Chelsea

Speaking to BT Sport, Chelsea forward Eden Hazard said: "It was good. I think both teams were playing with a bit of stress in the first half because it was a final, but when Olivier scored, it was the beginning of a great night. We played well and controlled the game and I'm happy to leave this trophy with the boys. The manager said to carry on playing football at the break and today we showed our mentality."

On his future: "We will decide in a few days and the only target in my mind tonight was to win this final. I have made my decision already and now I'm waiting on both clubs. I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know. My dream was to play in the Premier League and I have done that for one of the biggest clubs so maybe now it is the time for a new challenge."

  18. 'Game got away from Gunners'published at 21:57 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

    Alan Pardew
Former Newcastle and West Ham manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

As a team, Chelsea were faster and quicker, and their passing was more crisp. And of course, they had the outstanding individual on the pitch - Eden Hazard. He was quite quiet in the first half but he really came alive in the second.

Arsenal were good in the first half but unfortunately for them the game got away from them.

What does this mean, if anything, for Maurizio Sarri's future?

Eden Hazard says he will "decide in the next few days" where his future lies. Thie big tease.

He then says that he's already made his decision, and it "depends on both clubs."

    He's going lads.
