This has been a low quality affair. But it could still have some high quality drama...

    Man City 1-3 Crystal Palace

City defender Aymeric Laporte tries to take matters into his own hands, shooting from distance in an attempt to test Palace keeper Victor Guaita.

I like his thinking. Hammering it down with rain, wet surface, greasy hands... but he drags it wide.

Cardiff v Man Utd (17:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at Cardiff City Stadium

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just got off the Manchester United team bus at the Cardiff City Stadium.

United's new interim boss was about third off, behind coach Michael Carrick.

Initially there was a shout of 'Ole' before this was replaced by loud boos.

Solskjaer took Cardiff down into the Championship in 2014.

Today, he responded with a sheepish smile.

  6. City fans trying to get their side goingpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Man City 1-3 Crystal Palace

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

"Come on City" is the roar from the home fans as they urge their side forward - but you can tell what sort of afternoon they having from the way they are making just as much noise when they whistle Eagles keeper Vicente Guaita for taking his time at goal-kicks.

All the while, the pocket of Palace fans behind Ederson's goal continue to bounce around, getting even more animated every time their side threaten to break forward.

Go long! Andy Carroll has been brought on by West Ham. The home side have not really had an effort of note, other than Michail Antonio hitting the post earlier.

    Philip Billing (58 mins)

Strange goal, stranger things may have happened than a Huddersfield comeback!

Philip Billing drives forward from midfield, decides to take the shot on and he catches it really cleanly, but it's straight down the middle. Should Alex McCarthy save that? I think he should.

Though it did swing late, right in front of him. Huddersfield don't care...

    Bournemouth 1-0 Brighton

Brighton are pressing for an equaliser, Lewis Dunk loitering in the box as a corner is swung into the Bournemouth box. Delicately poised.

Save! Eden Hazard gets inside the area, tries to beat Kasper Schmeichel at his near post with sheer power and nearly does it as well. Fine save!

O Cube: City needs a new right-back. This Walker is too error prone.

Khael: Walker's past 10 mins has been an absolute nightmare.

Shane: Kyle Walker is such a liability for Man City.

    Newcastle 0-0 Fulham

Fulham look devoid of ideas, and confidence. They have a chance of a counter attack but Andre Schurrle makes a real mess of it on the halfway line.

The interesting thing is before the goal happen Otamendi came off for Aguero and now the game has flipped.

Kyle Walker is having a tough day, blatant penalty. These days happen.

I said at one point Palace were in big trouble, the way Palace have come back is brilliant

    Huddersfield 0-2 Southampton

They may not get any closer than that! A long throw ricochets around the Southampton six-yard box, Zanka throws his head at it but somehow Alex McCarthy turns that away, from point-blank range.

  16. 'They can't believe it'published at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

...he doesn't miss those! Well, most of the time. This one was only going to hit the net, the Palace skipper whacking it into the top right corner. Ederson went the right way but was only catching rain.
