GOAL - Chelsea 0-1 Leicesterpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Jamie Vardy (51 mins)

He may have said this week that Claude Puel's style of play doesn't suit him, but give Jamie Vardy a sniff of goal and he'll take it!

He's hardly had a touch all game but that is beautifully taken. James Maddison with the picture-perfect through ball into his path, and Vardy marks his 250th Leicester appearance with his 95th goal...

    Man City 1-2 Crystal Palace

Manchester City start the second half as they started the first - on the front foot. A few signs of discontent as Kyle Walker dallies on the ball instead of whipping it into the box. Walker didn't cover himself in glory for Jeff Schlupp's equaliser either.

    Huddersfield 0-2 Southampton

Saints start the half sharply, a nicely-worked short corner opens up the Town defence but it ends with Nathan Redmond lashing over the top.

    Chelsea 0-0 Leicester

N'Golo Kante is instantly into the Leicester area but Harry Maguire does well to cut out his cross, not once but twice. From the corner David Luiz heads over the top.

Jack, Yeovil: BREAKING - City sign Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace.

Andy: Townsend had one unstoppable goal, the game isn’t over yet. City have what it takes to win this game, people to calm down and have a drink.

Martin, Worcester: Andros Townsend... I can't remember a cleaner strike than that. It was like an exocet missile.

    Man City 1-2 Crystal Palace

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City were 13 points clear on Christmas Day last year and had the title in the bag, or Santa's sack if you prefer. Unless they can turn this one around they will be four points adrift of Liverpool and I can't imagine Pep Guardiola will enjoy opening his presents next week.

I doubt Pep is smiling too much at the moment either to be honest. Palace only managed two shots at goal in that first half - but it was definitely a case of quality, not quantity and boy did they make them both count.

For all City's possession - and they have had 76% of it - they have lacked invention in the final third and are not moving forward with their usual fluency. Fernandinho, for starters, is a big miss at the heart of their midfield.

    Man City 1-2 Crystal Palace

Saturday before Christmas, away at the champions. Any Palace fans who decided to swerve an away day in Manchester can be forgiven.

The Eagles have not won in the city for 28 years, drawing four and losing 19 of their visits since Ian Wright bagged a couple at Maine Road.

Those Palace supporters who have decided to stay at home and go shopping in the Whitgift Centre might just be regretting it...

City have controlled the game but have had limited chances. They should have done a bit better, a bit quicker to create a few more opportunities, but Palace had that three-minute spell that changed the game.

Do I believe City will come back? Yes, I do, but it will be difficult against this shape and team ethic that Palace have.

Ryan: So City had 78% possession with an assault on goal, yet only mustered one goal.. Palace scored two in virtually as many minutes. Quality over quantity is vastly underrated!

Nokeeroe: Looks like that wily old campaigner Roy Hodgson is about to pull off the result of the season at the Etihad.

There's a lot of life left in this one yet, Nokeeroe

    Arsenal 3-1 Burnley

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery told Match of the Day: "It was a tough match. It was difficult because they pushed a lot with long balls and the second aciton.

"But we played well with our body and our character was good. The victory was deserved and in the table we are closer to Tottenham and Chelsea.

"I think we won today not because we played well but because every player had a very big commitment.

"We knew Burnley are an organised team and were going to push us but we didn't lose too many long balls from the goalkeeper."

"I think we can controlled the match like we wanted. We had to make an alteration of our game plan but after i think our game plan gave us the victory."

"We're scoring lots of goals but we need more clean sheets and our defeat today was maybe that."

On Mesut Ozil..."It was a big performance today and afterwards I said congratulations for your work. Every player showed his quality and their characteristics. We needed him to work to help us today and he did."

Palace are exceeding expectations but you've got to look at what Manchester City have still got.

They've got the likes of Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez on the bench - there's three players for the second half, if needed, if they're going to come back in the game.
