  1. Good nightpublished at 22:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2018

The games keep coming thick and fast at this time of year and both Celtic and Rangers are in action again on Sunday.

Rangers go to Tynecastle for a lunchtime league match.

Celtic will contest the first silverware of the season, taking on Aberdeen in the League Cup final at Hampden. Will Brendan Rodgers' men stay on track for a treble treble or can the Reds pull off a surprise?

Before that, we have three top flight encounters on Saturday.

Thanks for your company this evening and join us for more of the same over the weekend.

  2. What next in the Europa League?published at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2018

Celtic and Rangers go into the final round of group games with hopes of progression very much alive.

Celtic need to take something from Salzburg in Glasgow but that won't be easy since the Group B winners have won all five of their games so far.

There's only one outcome that will see Rangers through and that's a win away to Rapid Vienna.

That double-Austrian mission for the Old Firm is on the 13 December and we'll have all of the action covered again.

  3. 'It feels like a win' - Gerrardpublished at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2018

    FT: Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

"It feels like a win after going down to 10 men," Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells BT Sport.

"We've got an unbelievable opportunity to get to the round of 32. I said before that we would need four points and that's proved to be the case.

"Defensively, we were excellent to a man. We are reaping the rewards from all of our hard work in pre-season."

On the Daniel Candeias sending off, Gerrard goes down the "I'd need another look" route, before adding: "He feels hard done by. But we didn't feel sorry for ourselves, we rolled up our sleeves and got on with it."

And what about Allan McGregor's performance? "World class," says the manager with a broad smile.

Livingston keeper Liam Kelly, who was at Rangers since an early age before his move to West Lothian, joins in the praise for Allan McGregor.

  5. Rangers 'dug in well' - McGregorpublished at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2018

    FT: Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

"I thought the boys dug in well," Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor tells BT Sport. "They never really looked like scoring in the second half.

On his first-half saves, he jokes: "It's just luck isn't it? You just make yourself as big as you can and stick a hand up."

On the second yellow card for Daniel Candeias: "I'm 70 yards away and I thought it was the wrong man."

In a way, defensively it's helped Rangers. They have coped with it extremely well going into a very solid shape and restricted Villarreal who are taking too many touches and making too many misplaced passes whenever they get into key areas

Are the home side on track to protect their unbeaten home record this season?

  10. YELLOW CARD Flanagan (Rangers), Alvaro (Villarreal)published at 89 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

Jon Flanagan is booked for taking the legs away from lively Villarreal sub Samuel Chukwueze.

Rangers repel the free-kick and Glenn Middleton is prevented from starting a counter-attack as he dragged down by Alvaro.

    Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

That's a bad miss. Morlanes whips a lovely ball into the mixer and Funes Mori gets there right in front of goal, with Allan McGregor totally exposed. However, the former Everton defender gets too much on it and steers the ball over the top from close range.

  12. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

Into the last five minutes. Remember, a win would take Rangers top of the group. A draw or a defeat would leave the Ibrox men needing a win at Rapid Vienna on the final evening of group action.

I can't see Rangers winning this. They look like being faced with the job of going to Rapid Vienna and winning. I've been looking up Rapid's home form in this season's Europa League. They've beaten Slovan Bratislava 4-0. They've beaten Steaua Bucharest 3-1. They've beaten Spartak Moscow 2-0 and they've drawn 0-0 with Villarreal. That's pretty formidable form.

Another good stop from Allan McGregor as he gets down to push away a raking effort from Samuel Chukwueze.

Kyle Lafferty is on for Alfredo Morelos and the substitute makes an immediate impact, firing in a rocket from long range that needs tipped over by Andres Fernandez.

That has got the Rangers fans making some serious noise again.

Glenn Middleton knocks the ball in from a James Tavernier cross but the teenage winger had gone too early and was a good bit offside.

Kyle Lafferty is warming up on the sidelines... Could the big striker unsettle the Villarreal defence? He did score the second equaliser over at El Madrigal 10 weeks ago.

Villarreal make their third change as 19 year-old Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze enters the fray in place of Pablo Fornals.

Rangers just can't keep hold of the ball as they invite more and more pressure from the visitors. Should the depleted hosts be looking at their bench? This is a tough shift for the 10 men.

  20. Cazorla on for Villarrealpublished at 62 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Villarreal

The visitors make a double change, with former Arsenal schemer Santi Cazorla on, along with Gerard Moreno.

Carlos Bacca and Manu Trigueros are the men making way.
