  3. Killie will learn lesson - Clarkepublished at 18:05 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 5-1 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke: "I thought Celtic were terrific first half. They were sharper than us and a little bit brighter. A big factor in that would be that they had seven fresh players all rested during the week and good to go.

"Stuart Findlay’s dragged himself off the treatment table with no training trying to help the team. Scott Boyd – I’ve just asked him when the last time he played three games in a week was and he couldn’t answer because it was so long ago and my two full-backs both involved in international football in the middle of June looked like a tired back four.

"Now we can give them a rest and get ready to go again.

"They’re disappointed with the result. They’re disappointed that the 600 Kilmarnock fans for the first time in a while go away from Celtic Park disappointed. They feel bad about it. I’ve said to them - our good work was done last weekend when we beat Hibs at home 3-0, when we beat Livingston midweek 2-0. Those are the results that will dictate our season.

"We will learn our lesson. It was a disappointing day but not a bad week for us with six points."

  4. Dons lacked inspiration - McInnespublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Aberdeen 0-2 St Johnstone

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "I thought we lacked a wee bit of creativity and inspiration at times, I thought we missed Gary Mackay-Steven.

"I thought the physical exertions potentially of the last two games in Glasgow, against the Old Firm maybe started to take its toll, we looked a bit leggy, a bit flat, we didn’t play with enough intensity, enough speed and I think that is understandable for a lot of them.

"We knew the importance of getting that first goal. The performance wasn’t there, but the players are good pros, they are hurting in there, we missed an opportunity to build on Wednesday’s big performance (beating Rangers)."

  5. Hyndman 'changed the game' for Hibspublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Hamilton 0-1 Hibernian

Once again, assistant manager Garry Parker is on media duties for Hibs and he's full of praise for replacements Emerson Hyndman and Daryl Horgan.

"We were better in the second half, the subs made a difference. But the most pleasing thing is we got the three points," he tells BBC Scotland.

"Emerson Hyndman changed the game for us. He wanted the ball, he got on the ball and he made things happen. The way we want to play, he influenced it.

"It was a great cross from Daryl and a great finish from Oli (Shaw).

"It's a massive three points. A win gives you confidence but obviously it's a hard game next against Celtic."

  10. Wright still targets beating droppublished at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Aberdeen 0-2 St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright tells BBC Scotland: "Last season, we didn't have a good record against Aberdeen and lost to them three times - we've now drawn with them and beaten them and I think that shows how far we've come on and improved.

"We've been on really good form and today we started the first half particularly well and had two clear-cut chances in the game with Matty Kennedy and Ross Callachan.

"Second half, Aberdeen had a lot of pressure, but Zander Clark didn't have a save to make until late on from a free-kick.

"We defended well and nullified them to very little chances and we always know we can nick a goal and we did that.

"We haven't reached 38 points, where you would normally not be relegated, so our targets haven't changed."

  11. 'Outstanding' Celtic delight Rodgerspublished at 17:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 5-1 Kilmarnock

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "We knew we had to play at a high level to get a result. The players deserve a huge amount of credit.

"Collective team goals but also some individual brilliance as well like Ryan Christie’s free-kick. All in all it was an outstanding team performance.

"We want to win everything. We want to win every game and every competition.

"We’ve been on a great run for two months. We should have won the game midweek – didn’t - but what a way to bounce back with a performance like that. lt continues this real good feeling, real good run of form."

  12. Kearney 'embarrassed' by St Mirren collapsepublished at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Livingston 3-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Oran Kearney on his side's defeat: "Very disappointing. The first half was everything you would have wanted coming here.

"To be honest we’re just embarrassed, the performance in the second half was just not good enough, there’s no other way to describe it.

"Our lack of actions in the second half leave me embarrassed and they leave the club embarrassed, which is very disappointing.

"Coming up to January I suppose that players are playing for their futures and with that you expect to see better. You expect to see more graft and more hunger. It’s a very tough one to take."

  14. 'Mission accomplished' for Hearts - Leveinpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Hearts 1-0 Motherwell

Hearts manager Craig Levein is a relieved man after his side ended a seven-game winless run.

He told BBC Scotland: "We're not going to be playing slick, entertaining football in the short term but we need to be picking up points. Mission accomplished today. I thought we probably just deserved to win."

Levein was also impressed by the performance of goalscorer Peter Haring in midfield.

"He doesn't just do the defensive stuff, he's a goal threat as well. It was good for him today to get back into the penalty area for a cross and get his head on it," he said.

"I thought Arnaud Djoum had a fantastic game again today, all credit to the boys they had to work hard for that."

  15. Holt 'over the moon'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2018

    FT: Livingston 3-1 St Mirren

Livingston manager Gary Holt: "I’m over the moon. The second-half performance showed how we have played for the majority of the time since I came in here.

"We don’t look at our position in the table, we’re not interested in it.

"We’re interested in winning the three points and that showed today."
