Connor McLennan meets Niall McGinn's cross at the front post and nods it across goal, although it may well have been ruled out anyway with Stevie May adjudged to have pushed a defender.Moments later and McLennan races down the right and crosses for Sam Cosgrove, whose looping shot is easily saved, but the Dons have a spring in their step now.

Motherwell have been excellent. Sharp, clever and more up for the fight.

That penalty save has given them another shot in the arm.

It must be tough for those St Johnstone players at the moment. It’s just not going their way.

What an incredible start! This top-of-the-table clash is definitely living up to its billing!

County silencing Somerset Park by going in front through Mullin’s eighth goal of the season - a real beauty of a volley.

But Ayr wasting no time in getting back into it, with Lawrence Shankland’s strike rate now up to 28 goals in 24 appearances this season.

Yet that is still one behind Queen of the South's Stephen Dobbie!

Greg Stewart should be scoring that. He's played clean through on goal but fires straight at Jack Hamilton in the Dundee goal.

Niall McGinn's free-kick is tipped over the bar, but Dean Lyness - on his St Mirren debut - brilliantly tips the ball over the bar.

But, from the resultant corner, Andrew Considine is pulled down in the box and Aberdeen have a penalty.

Now Dundee have a terrific opportunity. Glen Kamara plays in Jesse Curran, but Daniel Bachmann comes off his line to block the shot.

From the resulting corner, Genseric Kusunga's head-flick finds Andy Boyle, who is also foiled by goalkeeper Bachmann.

It really doesn't look like being St Johnstone's day here...

The hosts are just thrown a lifeline as Motherwell's Charles Dunne through an arm towards the ball in the visitors' box. A clear penalty, but St Johnstone's Matty Kennedy watches in horror as Mark Gillespie throws himself low to tip away his effort.

Shay Logan saves Aberdeen with a brilliant last-ditch tackle.

Simeon Jackson plays through Ryan Edwards, who is one-on-one with goalkeeper Joe Lewis, but Logan races back and robs him of the ball just as he was about to shoot.

At this rate, the Steelmen look like ending it.
