  1. 'Baltic' in Ayrshirepublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Kilmarnock v Dundee (15:00)

    Jane Lewis
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

Sleet now looks to be turning into snow here. Absolutely baltic, but both sets of players are out warming up.

Quite the incentive for Killie - a win and they go top.

But Dundee manager Jim McIntyre has spoken to me about the importance of points from their point of view too.

  2. Three changes at McDiarmid Parkpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

Tommy Wright's surging St Johnstone are on a roll. With eight games unbeaten, it's unsurprising there's not many changes today for the visit of Motherwell.

It's just Ross Callachan who makes way, with forward David McMillan coming in.

For the Steelmen, it's two changes from last week's defeat at Tynecastle.

Andy Rose and Alex Rodriguez-Gorrin drop out, Allan Campbell coming into midfield and Christian Mbulu into defence.

  3. Clarke wants 'reaction' from Killiepublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Kilmarnock v Dundee (15:00)

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke on Sportsound: "We suffered a heavy defeat last Saturday. I've asked them to show a reaction to that.

"If we get three points today, that'll be a good reaction.

"If we can maintain the really high level of performance that we've had since I came to the club then I'll be happy.

"Everybody's fit and fresh and we look forward to the game."

  4. Dundee have their work cut out - McIntyrepublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Kilmarnock v Dundee (15:00)

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre on Sportsound: "We know how difficult it's going to be, Kilmarnock are very strong at home. We're going to have to do a lot of things well.

"We want to try and put pressure on the teams round about us. We've got confidence in the team we've picked today to go and get a positive result.

"There's a long, long way to go. We've got a tough period now with playing five teams in the top six. We know we've got our work cut out, but we'll give it our best short.

"You really do have to play the conditions sometimes, especially at this time of year."

  5. Dons normally dump Buddiespublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

Aberdeen obviously enjoy playing St Mirren and will hope that today's visit to Paisley helps them retain the shooting boots they found in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Livingston.

Derek McInnes' side have scored 15 times - with one in reply - in their last four meetings with the Buddies.

Indeed, the Dons are unbeaten in 12 meetings between the sides since October 2012, when St Mirren won on penalties after a 2-2 League Cup draw. Six of those were in Paisley.

If St Mirren are to buck the trend, they may have to rely on Adam Hammill, with the former Liverpool and Dunfermline Athletic winger having been involved in six of their last eight goals - scoring four and assisting in two more.

  6. Saints go for nine games unbeatenpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

    Jonathan Sutherland
BBC Sport Scotland at McDiarmid Park

I make this the best run of form in the league for St Johnstone under Tommy Wright. Eight matches unbeaten, six wins in that time and seven of those games have come with clean sheets as well.

It’s not quite their best run of form ever under Wright though. They recorded seven wins and a draw in late 2014, but that included a 2-1 win over Ross County in the Scottish Cup.

They have never gone nine matches unbeaten under Wright. Can They can do that today against Motherwell

  7. Game of contrastspublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Kilmarnock v Dundee (15:00)

How will Kilmarnock react to last week's 5-1 hammering by Celtic last weekend, when Steve Clarke's side were well and truly knocked off their just-acquired top-of-the-table perch by the reigning champions?

They are unbeaten against today's visitors in four meetings since a May 2017 loss at Rugby Park and won 2-1 at Dens Park in October.

But Dundee are a different proposition now under new manager Jim McIntyre, are unbeaten in four games and are now off the bottom of the table.

The six points they have gathered are more than they managed in their previous 13 outings.

Kenny Miller is the man they have looked to for on-field inspiration, with the veteran former Scotland striker scoring in his past four Premiership appearances to take his total and finding the net six times.

  12. Stats stack up for Saintspublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

The odds seem stacked in St Johnstone's favour as they entertain Motherwell.

Tommy Wright's side are unbeaten in eight games, four of them at home, seven of them being clean sheets.

Saints are unbeaten in nine games at home to Well since November 2012 and have lost just one of their last 10 meetings between the two.

Meanwhile, Stephen Robinson's side are without a win in thre outings - and have lost their last three away from home.

    Scottish League One

Arbroath are developing into one of the stories of the season and Dick Campbell's side, 13 points clear at the top of League One, are seeking an eighth consecutive league win as they travel to face Airdrieonians.

Second-top Raith Rovers host Dumbarton, while there is another one of those Angus derbies as Forfar Athletic host Montrose, who lead them on goal difference in fourth.

With Brechin City's game in Stranraer being called off, Stenhousemuir would move off the bottom if they beat third-top East Fife.

I was a wee bit premature with that earlier post about the number of postponed games.

There's now four after Peterhead's League Two game at home to Cowdenbeath was called off because of high winds.

    Weather postpones four SPFL fixtures

The matches at Stranraer, Berwick Rangers, Peterhead and Stirling Albion are called off as sleet and snow are forecast for parts of Scotland.

  17. Top two go head-to-headpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Scottish Championship

Ayr United chairman Lachlan Cameron has been telling BBC Scotland that he views their surprise lead as a "once in a generation chance' to win promotion to the top flight.

Ian McCall's side, unbeaten in seven games since their 2-1 defeat by today's visitors in Dingwall, are a point ahead of Ross County with a game in hand and top scorer Lawrence Shankland will again be in the spotlight, although Cameron insists he knows nothing of reported interest from Swansea City.

However, County arrive unbeaten in their last seven away games.

Third-top Dundee United won't get it easy either away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Having moved off the bottom last week after their first win under Gary Caldwell, Partick Thistle will be hoping to extend their lead over Alloa Athletic as the part-time Wasps visit Firhill.
