  1. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 2-0 Hullpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Jack Rodwell (18 mins)

Blackburn Rovers are 2-0 up - and it's Jack Rodwell!

The former Sunderland midfielder heads in from a corner to double Blackburn's lead against Hull, scoring his first goal since September 2017 in the process.

About this time last week Hull were winning at Aston Villa... but it's not gone quite so well since.

  2. goal

GOAL: Nott'm Forest 1-0 Wiganpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Joe Lolley (19 mins)

Forest v WiganImage source, Getty Images

It's a bit less fidgety now at Forest, as Joe Lolley marks his 50th appearance for Nottingham Forest with a trademark ripper.

He sniffs a bit of hesitancy in the Wigan defence at he strides towards goal, and then smacks his shot across the goal and into the far corner of the net.

    Beauty.

  3. goal

GOAL: Stoke 0-1 Prestonpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Alan Browne (20 mins)

That's a superb goal - and a deserved one too.

Alan Browne's curling effort, his 10th goal of the season, puts Preston ahead against Nathan Jones' Stoke.

    Nott'm Forest 0-0 Wigan

There might be some awkwardly-shuffling bottoms in the stands at the City Ground, as Nottingham Forest labour against Wigan at present. Martin O'Neill's second bite of the cherry for Forest not quite coming to fruition at the moment.

Michael Jacobs has teased Forest out on the left and brought out some 'stiff' challenges, while Reece James went a step closer with a curler which just breezed the wrong side of Costel Pantillimon's upright.

    Wigan look the sharper.

  5. Macclesfield on the chargepublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    League Two

Huge goal at the bottom of the English Football League - Michael Rose has just slotted home a penalty to put Macclesfied 1-0 up against Cheltenham.

As it stands they're now two points above the relegation zone.

Also in League Two, Samme Szmodics has put Colchester a goal ahead at Crewe and Liam Shepard has grabbed Forest Green's opener against Stevenage.

  6. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 1-0 Hullpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Adam Armstrong (10 mins)

Hull City are one of the division's in-form teams at the moment - but they trail at Ewood Park today.

Adam Armstrong is the man with the opener, slotting home to put Blackburn in front. That's his third goal in four games.

Where are all the goals in League One and League Two?

We've got 16 matches and so far Tim Elsnik's opener for Northampton against Morecambe in the early kick-off is our only goal.

Incidentally the second half in that fixture is now under way.

  8. goal

GOAL: Norwich 1-0 Sheff Utdpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Onel Hernandez (11 mins)

Norwich looked really slick against Birmingham City last time out, with some wonderful football, and they've picked up where they left out with another goal out of the 'Teamwork Textbook'.

Great interchange between Teemu Pukki and Onel Hernandez, who 'megs' goalkeeper Dean Henderson to put the Canaries.

    One-nil Hernandez more like. (Sorry...)

    Rotherham 0-0 Leeds

Lively start by Rotherham at home to Leeds, who for all the Yorkshire clubs are the team to beat...

Anthony Forde's set-piece brought a punch out of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, while Joe Mattock put a ball into the box which came to nothing.

So far, the action on the pitch not matching the enthusiasm from the stands.

  10. goal

GOAL: Aston Villa 1-0 Ipswichpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Tammy Abraham (6 mins)

    Aston VillaImage source, Rex Features

    No stopping Villa that time.

Who else but Tammy Abraham who pops up with his 18th goal of the season, burying a wickedly-whipped free-kick from Conor Hourihane.

You have to fear for Ipswich already... that said, Abraham has scored nine in his last five home games for Villa and not been on the winning side in any of them.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Ipswich

Scottish midfielder John McGinn rouses a few of the Villa fans as the ball is laid off to him from distance, but the strike rises high over the top.

He can certainly wallop one when he wants to. Not that time though.

    Stoke 0-0 Preston

Paul Gallagher is making his 250th Preston North End appearance this afternoon - and he's had the first chance of the afternoon too.

The former Scotland man has a shot tipped around the post by Potters goalkeeper Jack Butland.

    Norwich 0-0 Sheff Utd

Norwich making a bright start to their game against fellow promotion hopefuls Sheffield United.

Onel Hernandez, whose love of catalogue store Argos has been in the news this week, had a dig from the edge of the box, but found Dean Henderson up to the task of pushing his shot around the post.

    Early sighter for the Canaries.

It seems as though there will be a few minutes silence around the grounds of the EFL today, in tribute to striker Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson, who were on board the plane which went missing on a flight from Nantes to Cardiff this past week.

Emotional times. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of both, as well as the teams concerned.

On a reverse level to the stellar signings, isn't it amusing when one of the giants bring in someone random?

I'm thinking ex-Pompey and Spurs man Kevin-Prince Boateng at Barca, recently.

That man has also played for AC Milan and Dortmund as well... his agent must be the most persuasive man in football.

    Northampton 1-0 Morecambe

    Elsewhere, it's now half-time in League Two's early kick-off.

Timi Elsnik's debut goal is enough to give Northampton the lead at the break but, Morecambe duo Andrew Tutte and Rhys Oates have both seen shots well saved by Cobblers keeper David Cornell.

    Still all to play for.

    Bryan RoyImage source, Getty Images

Spanish goalkeeper Kiko Casilla makes his debut for Leeds United this afternoon, having swapped Los Merengues white of Real Madrid and the Bernabeu, for the white rose of West Yorkshire.

His last few seasons have been spent collecting trophies like kids collect stickers or footy cards.

It got me thinking... when has your team signed someone seemingly out of this world?

I was buzzing when Forest signed Bryan Roy all those years ago. We had some stars but this was a Netherlands international who had just played at a World Cup?! 'Roy 22' shirts were plentiful on Trentside.

Newcastle signing Mirandinha in the late 1980s, a Brazilian on Tyneside alongside the likes of Liam O'Brien and John Anderson.

How about Fabrizio Ravanelli rocking up on Teesside with Juninho and Emerson at Middlesbrough?

What about Netherlands midfielder Edgar Davids at Barnet?!
