  1. League Two fixturespublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

One of the tastiest games of the day takes place in League Two, as leaders Lincoln City travel to second-placed Bury in a 17:30 GMT kick-off. We'll have live text coverage of that game later.

Six points separate the two sides, so a win for the Imps could see them go nine points clear at the top of the table should third-placed Mansfield fail to beat Tranmere.

At the bottom, Notts County could be in further trouble, even though they do not play today.

The Magpies are six points adrift at the bottom and seven points from safety and could go further behind if either Morecambe or Macclesfield can get points from their away games.

    • Northampton Town v Morecambe (14:00 GMT)
    • Cheltenham Town v Macclesfield Town
    • Crewe Alexandra v Colchester United
    • Exeter City v Cambridge United
    • Grimsby Town v Milton Keynes Dons
    • Mansfield Town v Tranmere Rovers
    • Port Vale v Carlisle United

  2. League One fixturespublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

With leaders Portsmouth hosting QPR in the FA Cup, Luton Town have the chance to go to the summit of League One today.

The Hatters, who are still under the caretaker control of Mick Harford after Nathan Jones took the Stoke City job, travel to mid-table Southend United.

Barnsley and Charlton both have the chance to go above third-placed Sunderland if they can record victories, while the division's form team Plymouth Argyle are aiming for a fifth successive win at Wycombe Wanderers.

    • Barnsley v Rochdale
    • Burton Albion v Bradford City
    • Coventry City v Blackpool
    • Fleetwood Town v Scunthorpe United
    • Peterborough United v Charlton Athletic
    • Southend United v Luton Town

  3. Championship fixturespublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

So... just to remind you, the big game in the second tier is at Carrow Road as second-placed Norwich City host fourth-placed Sheffield United.

The Blades would go second if they beat the Canaries, while victory for Norwich could see them go top if Leeds fail to win their Yorkshire derby at Rotherham United.

    • Aston Villa v Ipswich Town
    • Blackburn Rovers v Hull City
    • Norwich City v Sheffield United
    • Nottingham Forest v Wigan Athletic
    • Rotherham United v Leeds United

    Stoke v Preston (15:00 GMT)

After starting his reign with two consecutive defeats, Stoke boss Nathan Jones picked up his first win in charge of the Potters last weekend - and against Championship leaders Leeds, no less!

Stoke would move into the top half of the table today if they beat a Preston team that ended a six-match winless run by hammering QPR 4-1 at Loftus Road last Saturday.

North End are 18th in the table, but there's a 10-point gap between North End and the bottom three.

  5. On a Hull of a runpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Blackburn v Hull (15:00 GMT)

Hull were 22nd in the Championship at the end of November.

23 points from nine games later, the Tigers are eighth and knocking on the door of the Championship play-offs.

No wonder Nigel Adkins is smiling.

They're level on points with today's opponents Blackburn, who have performed admirably in the second tier following their promotion from League One last season and will have ambitions of a top-six finish themselves.

    Northampton 1-0 Morecambe

We've also got an early game in League Two between Northampton Town and relegation-threatened Morecambe, which kicked off at 14:00 GMT.

Timi Elsnik - making his Cobblers debut - has just given the hosts the lead from close range.

  8. O'Neill targets first Forest winpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Nott'm Forest v Wigan (15:00 GMT)

Anyone who thought Martin O'Neill would be the panacea to Nottingham Forest's woes came down to earth with a bump last weekend.

The Forest legend, who took over from Aitor Karanka, saw his new charges lose 1-0 at home to Bristol City on his dugout debut at the City Ground.

The two-time European champions have not scored in 25 days and have registered just one win in their past nine games in all competitions.

Today they host Wigan, who have just one away win this season. With a full week's training under the former Celtic and Aston Villa manager in their legs, will there be a turnaround at the City Ground this afternoon? Stay tuned here to find out.

  9. A goal-fest at Villa Park?published at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

Aston Villa v Ipswich (15:00 GMT)

The words 'Fortress', 'Villa' and 'Park' have certainly not been mentioned in the same sentence this season.

With almost two thirds of the season gone, no side in the Championship has conceded more goals at home this season than Aston Villa.

They have shipped 26 goals in front of their own fans - three more than the next nearest side.

In their past five home games they have seen 14 goals go past their own goalkeeper, including five to Nottingham Forest and three to Leeds United.

The only saving grace has been that they are scoring lots at home - 32 this season is just one goal fewer than the division's leaders in that statistic, West Bromwich Albion.

They host bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Town this afternoon, who have conceded more goals on the road than any other side in the Championship.

What odds on a goalless draw?

  10. Canaries or Blades - who will come out on top?published at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

Norwich v Sheff Utd (15:00 GMT)

Norwich City v Sheffield UnitedImage source, Rex Features

Second hosts fourth at Carrow Road in a game that pits two teams desperate to be involved in the final shake-up at the top of the Championship.

After a shaky Christmas and New Year period, during which the Canaries took just three points and were knocked out of the FA Cup by League One leaders Portsmouth, Norwich bounced back with a 3-1 win over Birmingham City eight days ago.

The Blades go into the game off the back of a first loss in the league since mid-December, when they went down 1-0 at Swansea.

But they had won their previous league four games, scoring 10 goals along the way, in a run that saw them beat in-form sides Derby County and QPR.

The Blades will go second if they win, while Norwich could go top if they get three points and Leeds fail to win at Rotherham.

  11. Will Leeds hold on to top spot?published at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Rotherham v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

    Marcelo BielsaImage source, PA

Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United start today a point clear at the top of the Championship after last weekend's loss at Stoke.

That was a fourth defeat in five league and cup games for the league leaders.

Rotherham's form is hardly something to write home about either. The Millers have managed only two league wins since mid-September, and yet they remain two points outside the bottom three.

    Something's gotta give...

How do. All good on this Saturday afternoon?

Still plenty to get through even with what you might call a 'reduced service'.

All the EFL fare across three divisions, then free-scoring Bury's visit of Lincoln City later today to finish.

    No time to waste...

It's a testament to the pedigree of the EFL clubs that there are almost as many League One games postponed by cup involvement as there are in the Championship.

Some big boys have already seen their exit from the FA Cup, such as Championship league leaders Leeds (try saying that after a few jars) and second-placed Norwich, which means it's a prime time to concentrate on the league.

    Among the highlights?

With their Wembley dreams prematurely ended, Leeds travel to Rotherham for a 'white rose' derby, while Norwich also take on South Yorkshire opposition in fellow promotion hopefuls Sheffield United.

  14. Welcomepublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the action in today's English Football League matches.

With the FA Cup fourth round happening this weekend, it's a slightly pared back schedule today - just six games in the Championship, seven in League One and 10 in League Two.

But that doesn't mean it won't be fun!
